I would like to give a shout-out to all the Hip Hop heads for keeping it real. Alot of talk has been said lately about Hip Hop being dead. In my opinion, I think in some ways it is.The essence of Hip Hop, that true sound of Hip Hop has been overlooked and almost discredited. I think the BUSINESS killed Hip Hop. The "industry." What went wrong, I dont know. We all know Hip Hop will never die, but real Hip Hop is struggling to stay alive. Thank you to all the emcees who are fighting the good fight.
When making SIDE EFFECTS I decided to create the type of album I dont get to hear much anymore. A lyrical, gutter, raw album. A east coast underground album. So SIDE EFFECTS is my version of all that. Its my way of giving back to my community. I hit the same street corners. Chilled with the same people. Drank the same 40s and rode the same trains I rode years ago. I brought myself back, and it helped get me in the mindstate I needed to make that underground sound I wanted.
Hip Hop has changed. Im doing my best to help bring it back.STAY TUNED.
