About Me

In the year of 1987 Brandon Howze who is now known as "Bucks" was born in the great City of Pittsburgh. Born to the parents of Mary Jane Nixon and Reginald Howze Sr. the two weren't even prepared to know what they had in store for them . Growing up in Pittsburgh's cultural area known as the " Hill District" Bucks had many obstacles in his way, but wouldn't let that get in the way of being a musician. Raised most of his life by his father he already had one foot in the door. With his father teaching him the basics of music, it had Bucks getting a better understanding of what he was getting into. Playing the violin, trumpet, trombone, and the saxophone while attending school Bucks just couldn't get enough of music. His father known for playing baseball, who also tried out for the Kansas City Royals and Pittsburgh Pirates, was also known for his god giving talent of playing the saxophone. Listening to his father play everyday, and knowing how good he was, had Bucks ambitious to succeed. After understandig the music from a instrumental point, Bucks wanted to do more he wanted to write music also. Purchasing notebook after notebook filling them with lyrics Bucks was on to something, not just something but something BIG. Day in and day out he would say and write catchy metaphors not even knowing where it would eventually lead him. Until one day Bucks let his friends hear something and they were amazed, he got comments like "I aint know you could rap" "You need to be on the radio or something" " You should take rap serious" Taking those comments he started to take rap serious more than ever. Starting by entering freestyle battles to test his strength in the game, had many artists on their toes. He wouldn't stop there he would eventually enter a freestyle "cash prized" battle, which included six contestants eliminating one by one until he reached the champion, who had been victorious for the last couple months. Entering the final round he immediately got down to business, getting down so much that the opponent choked on his words. As the crowd chanted "Bucks" over and over again he ended the champ's two month winning streak. After his success people started to ask for demos, albums, and features even though he had never been in an actual recording studio before. So that only lead to one thing getting into a studio ASAP. Being introduced to ID labs by GBA's Harold Jones aka Kamacho got Bucks his first encounter with a studio. It also had other studios on the verge of recording with the artist. Firehouse Studios an underground studio in the heart of Pgh's market square was also interested in recording with him. Recording mixtapes from the two had Bucks get the feel of the recording studio. With his debut mixtape Hungry? Why Hate? Vol. 1 he started to get more publicity from the Pittsburgh crowd, but the people wanted more, they wanted an album so he dropped an underground album called the " The Maturity" Which was to show Pittsburgh that the young artist wsn't only getting better but he was also maturing at the same time. Working on his first major album besides his underground one Bucks plans to go for the thrown by dropping his anticipated album called "Self Explanatory" which is set to drop 2008. With him determined to succeed he is set to be the next known atrtist since Joe Beast and Wiz Khalifa.GET IN CONTACT WITH BUCKS FOR COLLABS OR FOR BOOKING INFO BY E-MAILIN ME AT [email protected]
