Shalamar Tabor was born in Dallas,Texas where he grew up in a suburban area with not much do as a young boy.He played sports such as football,baseball,basketball and hockey,but never settled to stay with a sport.Taking a music class at Shands Elementary,he grew to love the sound of music.In his teenage years he began to hang with the wrong type of crowds which would later on bring him to a really low point in his life.Not acting as a good role model for his younger brother William he stayed out conducting into many street crimes which would later land him into jail numerous of times.After his encounter with the law at age 14,he had a wake up call and realized he needed to set his mind on a brighter future.So he took up choir at the Kimbrough middle school and skateboarding in his free time.With his growing interest in music he wanted to expand his ears for a different sound.So he joined a band with 3 other local aspiring artist.One day while skateboarding on an local street by his home,he came across a guy named Stevie Lockett who introduced him to the world of music production on a small keyboard he had in his upstairs bedroom.After talking to Stevie about everything music is,he took up the art of hip hop production.At the age of 16 he had already finished middle choir winning numerous singing awards,and going through a bunch of bands that he felt he didn't fit with.He had a slight turn in his life that would later send him to a boys home in San Angelo,Texas.10 months out of his life he stayed there to fix his life up and get back on the right road.Coming back home from the ranch he fell out of his commitment with his mother over numerous of fights over drugs and school behavior.She later put him on the streets,with nothing but a dollar to his name.Left with no hopes,he happened to come across Stevie Lockett again and he ask he still messed around with the hip hop music.They later started making hip hop beats together in his mothers back shed,eating and sleeping in their practicing the art of production.Now at the age of 18 with still no future on his mind,he thought to himself music is the only thing he knows can take him somewhere in life.Doing that he began making sample disc with his beats and selling hip hop instrumentals to local Dallas artist.When he began writing his own songs,he realized he had a second talent of rapping.He started recording his own music since Stevie moved to Seattle to better his life.With no highschool education it was hard to find a good paying job to help him stay on his feet.So here came back the wrong crowds again where he began to sell drugs and commit crimes for his money to eat and get through the day.Living day by day in a crime related area landed him in jail numerous times again.Until 1 day where he felt to just give his mother a call and see how she was doing. Not knowing that later that week he would be moving back into his mothers home. In doing that he was able to make his music cd’s and sell his beats out his mothers home. When Michael Holleman got released from jail in January 04, they began to do music together building a home studio at his mothers house in Garland Texas. Trying out different artist in the local area they came across Devin King, an aspiring rapper who wanted to get heard as well as them. As the 3 started recording song after song, they form a group and called themselves the DREAMTEAM, and S.T.P.After Shalamar having a baby and Devin moving away and Michael moving. He was again by himself living with his girlfriend’s house making beats everyday waiting on the day when he will sell the right beat to the right person. Keeping in touch with his band members, they still write songs to this day and still have high dreams of taking there music to the next level…
