Markus Homm was born in 1980 in Romania and moved to Germany with his family as a child. In 2001 at age 21, he had his first DJ gig in Nuremberg, Germany. He quickly made a name for himself. Many other domestic and international appearances followed.
One of the gigs took him to Romania, his former homeland. He was so thoroughly impressed by the club scene there that he decided on the spot to get involved. In 2004 he opened a record shop in Sibiu together with other DJ friends. At that time, he continued to develop his own style, a combination of deep house and tech house. He achieved a solid position in the techno scene, and his tracks were play- ed on various radio shows (including BBC). In the meantime, Markus lives in Moscow and Hong Kong.
His intercultural experiences flow into his own tracks and remixes which he produces as a solo artist and with his partner Mihai Popoviciu, plus many more projects.

Es ist soweit - mit „Channel by Channel“ legt Markus Homm seine erste Solo-EP auf Highgrade vor. Bisher trat der Kosmopolit, der meist irgendwo zwischen Hong-Kong, Moskau, London und Nürnberg zu finden ist, sehr erfolgreich im Doppelpack als Homm & Popoviciu in Erscheinung. Eine vinyl EP und drei Digital Releases hat das Duo schon auf seinem Konto. Mit die- ser EP läutet Markus Homm mit vier housigen Nummern den Frühling ein. Schon der Titeltrack „Channel by Channel“ deutet an, wo die Reise hingeht: leichtfüßiger Groove trifft sweete Chords, Ergebnis: sonniger Housesound, der die dunkle Jahreszeit plötzlich ganz weit weg erscheinen läßt. Auch „Torn“ auf der B1 ist ganz um eine unwiderstehlich groovende Melodie gebaut, während „Xpander“ (B2) dann zum Ende nochmal ordentlich Fahrt aufnimmt, aber auch hier gelingt es Markus Homm wieder bravourös, melodische Elemente zu einem deepen Groove verschmelzen zu lassen. Es bedarf nicht viel Fantasie um zu erkennen, dass diese drei hochkarätigen Tracks ihre euphorische Wirkung kaum einem Dancefloor versagen werden. It‘s about time! With “Channel by Channel“ Markus Homm presents his first solo EP on Highgrade. Until now, this cosmopolitan citizen of the world, who shares his time between Hong-Kong, Moscow, London and Nurem- berg – has been part of the successful collaboration: Homm & Popoviciu. One vinyl EP and three digital releases have already made a strong impres- sion with the Highgrade faithful. With this EP and it‘s four groovey house tracks, Markus Homm signals the springtime. The title track “Channel by Channel“ already foreshadows where this journey will end: fleet footed rhythms meet sweet chords and result in a sunny house groover that im- mediately kills the winter blues ”Torn“ on the flipside is also built around an irresistible melody, while “Xpander“ (B2) gets things moving a little faster towards the end. Proving again, how skillfully Markus Homm can create a deep groove from his handpicked melodic elements.
