About Me

I am a refugee from law school, having realized that my love of performing music keeps me going above all other pursuits. I got my Masters degree in voice performance at the University of Texas at Austin, studying under the great mezzo and wonderful human being, Rose Taylor. I have performed solos all over Texas as well as in Germany, Austria, Ireland, and Wales. I have a particular fondness for German Lieder as well as French chansons. The CD recording of my May 2008 Lieder recital is on sale at Waterloo Records in Austin. Some of my favorite oratorio solos include Bach's St. John Passion, Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Dvorak's Stabat Mater, and the Requiems of Mozart, Faure, and Durufle. One of my most treasured opportunities was been performing Bach's sublime bass cantata, "Ich habe genug," in 2005. I have performed extensively in Austin with Conspirare, the Texas Choral Consort, and the Texas Early Music Project. I also made my Austin Lyric Opera debut in January 2009 as Count Ceprano in Verdi's Rigoletto.I am a native Austinite and have been a diehard fan of the Longhorn football team since I was a little kid, finally watching my team win that elusive championship in 2005. I also have drawn since I was a kid, and I do various illustration projects from time to time. I love traveling and seeing different cultures.
