About Me

Well, I'm pretty much a total geek... Well, I guess I should give a better description than that... I am a complex woman with simple desires (unless I've got that backwards!)... I've sometimes got a lot on my plate, with life, medical issues and everything, but I make the best of it as much as I can. I try to have a good attitude even when others do not. I love to feel emotionally connected to other people, like we're all in this big wide world together. I think we basically all want the same things: to be loved and to give love, to be treated with respect, to have the freedom to express how we think and feel without being condemned for those thoughts and beliefs. I do believe in God and spirituality and learning from experience. I love walking on the beach, the smell of the ocean air, the feel of the sand beneath my feet. I love the colors of the sky as the light is just starting to fade and you see all the different hues, like in a Maxfield Parrish painting. I love to laugh and to make others laugh. I have a good, albeit twisted, sense of humor. I am a total Francophile and speak French whenever I can. Am I fluent? Hardly. But I dream of the day when I can finally go there. I really want to travel to other places. There is so much to see that I have yet to see. I love to be with my close friends, for in a lot of ways they are my family. I would not be myself if I didn't mention my brother, who passed away in 2001. We were like best friends, and I miss him more than mere words could ever express. I have learned a lot about love and loss and the mistakes you make along the way and how important it is to have a good attitude in life. I am a strong woman, but I am so grateful for the support that others have given me. Music totally inspires me and I am often singing or quoting lyrics from songs or humming a tune. I love anything from rock to classical and most genres in between. I'm also a huge Star Wars and Star Trek fan. Some of my co-workers roll their eyes at me as I do my interpretive recreations of scenes from Star Wars movies... but it's always good for a laugh and it makes me laugh too. I might even start a light saber battle with anything resembling a light saber, so be forewarned! :-P

People who share similar interests, who are somewhat (okay, maybe totally) geeky but also a lot of fun.... who like to watch movies; listen to/talk about/be inspired by music; be creative, laugh, sing, play and be silly! Geeks are cool.
