You have to be some sort of she-hulk to get this thing open!

About Me

I'm trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, and am currently enrolled in the Psychology program at Oregon State University. I think I'd lie to do some sort of child or family psychology career. Just anything where I can spend a portion of every day helping people that may be in a difficult siuation I grew up in Oregon. I also lived in Caracas, Venezuela for awhile. I've got three brothers that are all younger than me, two of them are twins. I come from a family that speaks 5 languages (English, Spanish, Finnish, French, and Portugese) and everyone in my family seems to be musically gifted except me, (really sucks!) although I'm trying to learn the guitar, and am making some progress on it.

My Interests

Skateboarding, wakeboarding, ultimate frisbee, art, science, games, reading, music, playing the guitar, debating (in a friendly sort of way) and camping.

I'd like to meet:

Anybody that's artistic, smart funny, or well anybody really, I'm not picky. I tend to shy away from the extremely self-centered types, or the super trendy people. I like to meet people that are really different from myself. Just being yourself seems to be the hardest thing for people to do, 'cause we're all so self conscious, but it's always refreshing to make a real connection with someone.

Music:

I'm into a wide range of stuff, but I really like old reggae, punk rock, and hip hop. I'm also into really mellow classical type stuff. Heck I've even listened to Country during some of my weaker moments. Oh, and celtic music rocks the casa. Seriously. If you want something kind of mellow to just chill out to, then Celtic music is your best friend. For those that don't know about it, the free Celtic music podcast on Itunes is fantastic. Best free music ever in my opinion. I guess that makes me a hippy, but whateva'.

Movies:

Spider-man, x-men, pretty much any movie about vigilantes fighting crime in spandex and I'm down with it. I also like the stuff that makes you think a bit more. Basically I like movies that are either super realistic, or just totally fantastic. I don't like it when they try to mix the two.On the more serious side, I love 'Good Will Hunting', and 'Juno' was totally amazing. Sometimes I really get in to that heart-warming, smoozy stuff. 'Across the Universe' was a pretty neat one. Kinda trippy/artsy-fartsy, but still good.

Television:

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT!! If you're one of those unfortunate souls that has yet to partake of the best creation on earth than go rent season 1. As Tobias would say, "you shan't regret it." It's absolutely hilarious and only seems to get better with age. The executives that canceled the show after just 2 and 1/2 seasons are without souls, but the ones that were recorded are solid gold. I honestly can't praise this show enough. It's that good. The Office has moved up near the top of my list recently. It's friggin' hilarious. Lost has got me interested too. Old Simpsons episodes, and Family guy (some of the early stuff before it got retarded. Oh, and Futurama is pretty dang hilarious too.

Books:

It sounds juvenile but I loved the latest Harry Potter book. I just recently got into the series and I'm amazed at how much I like them. I really liked the Dark Tower series by Stephen King (even though the ending didn't tie things up like it should have. In fact I didn't read the last 5 pages of that 7 book series just to show my indignation. That'll show Steven King!), and I like pretty much any kind of a good fantasy book. Im also really into informative science books and biographies. One of my favorites was Malcolm x's autobiography. I'm currently reading "Classic Feynman" which is a compendium of the writings of the late, great Richard Feynman. He's a brilliant guy and it really cool to read what he thought about the atomic bomb (he helped develop it.) So yeah, I guess I'm kind of a nerd. Oh, and I'm also currently reading 'A planet called Treason' It's about a dude that starts growing female parts (I'm serious, it has a lot more to it than that though) and it's pretty friggin' weird. The same author (Orson Scott Card) also wrote 'Ender's Game' another fantastic book. I also love graphic novels and am currently reading an awesome Batman one (I know that sounds sooo juvenile, but it's a tight book. Graphic novels rock because there's some insane talent involved, and they have an ability to take you deeper into the story.

Heroes:

Jesus, Galileo, Charles Darwin, Richard Feynman, my mom, my dad, etc. and anyone else that has ever stood up for what they believe in, used their immense talents to make the world a happier place, or been capable of always looking towards the brightest points in life, and spread happiness to those around them.
