i've started as home scratch-dj in 1998, i've use old soviet turntable and some kids-records that days.
later i've started to buy some hiphop vinyl, and bought used gemini pmx2200 mixer (with jazzy jeff autograph!)
damn i was into all that skratching-turntablism! i've practiced for 3-4 hours a day! in 2000 i finish my school and bought my first technics turntable! later i get some invitation to play at club at some local hophop party. and so on! since 2002 i played at many saint-petersburg hiphop nights, until this scene became that bounce shit.. all that so-called "rnb".. fuck that.. i still have nice hiphop vinyl records and play sometimes, but my main interest since late 2004 is funk music.. mainly i'm collectin' funk on 7 inch records.. i have one of the biggest collection in russia, i know quantity is not about quality.. but all my stuff is rough, funky and damn hard!! when i started i was into downtempo funk and get a great want-list of this stuff! 2 years on ebay..damn..i was maniac.. 8) every night i watched all these records.. hundreds and thousands.. some was won, some still in my wantlist.. but few months ago i was suspended off ebay.. yeah i was in that situation when i won more than i can pay for.. next few weeks was hard.. but i started to practice on a drums (twas my old dream) and damn.. now i'm also drum-addicted! thats my short story.. i like to play funk records very much, i like to give people so positive music which is hard to find... i still like to scratch, we have dj-quartet "true flavas" and we doin' all that "turntable composing" stuff (4 decks, 4 mixers).. and i like to play drums, i'm still learnin', but damn it's super-feelings to catch and keep a groove with your body!
