~ " A Tale of 2junglists " ~It was the best of times...well its still the best of times!It began in the early 1990’s during the evolution of the Midwest Party Scene. After a few years of watching the tables from the front side, Matsu moved to the other side of the decks. He bought a MC505 and started makin’ beats. In early 2000 - Pika came into the scene and they pooled all their money to buy 3 turntables and a mixer. Soon after they began playing the roles of both promoters and Dj’s - in May of 2001 they threw their first event - A Magikal Mystery Festival. Over 70 DJ’s and electronic bands filled 3 days and brought over 2000 people... not bad for their first event.Over the next 8 years their journey took them from the Midwest Massive to Tokyo and Okinawa to the Northwestern United States, carting gear and records half way around the world and back now they have landed in Florida.Through the years 2junglists has added massive amounts of gear to their collection. Acquiring miscellaneous drum machines, samplers, mixers, computers, a Triton Studio, various analogue filters, mics, amps and many odd ball pieces they have found uses for. While 2junglists appreciates what the CD revolution has done to increase the accessibility and popularity of dance music, the stay true to their roots preferring the sound & feel of vinyl.With mix CD’s circulating the international underground for most of the past decade, it would appear the 2 junglists duo has alined themselves to be in the next generation of Super Star DJ’s. Armed with a collection of unheard Dub Plates, Matsu’s high energy head banging DJ style paired with Pika's aggressive track selection and seamless mixing - the 2junglist duo is always ready to throw down!
