About Me

On a friendly and warm summer 2004 night in Paris, Romain and Nicolas met. It all started in this bar, that would soon become the landmark to their friendship, along with all their music-loving friends. Their common passion for music, and obvious desire to play together, quickly lead them into a rehearsal studio, in early September 2004. A unique rehearsal, before a long, and yet early break.A couple months later, Romain had sent many of his songs to Xavier, and they already had expressed the will to experience them together. November showed up, and it was time for them three to get into a studio, to practice some songs. Within very few rehearsals, Romain's rythmic guitar fluency, and natural vocal lines, along with Xavier's inspirational lead guitars, made it clear that their complementary styles would perfectly fit together. The need of a bass soon became the bands prime necessity. John, one of Romain's friends, until now guitar player, had a profound and secret wish to move on to bass guitar. It felt like the perfect opportunity to make this dream come true. In the midst of January 2005, John became the fourth member of the band. He very quickly felt that the bass was HIS instrument... the guitar he was made for. It seemed that he had finally found, what he had been seeking for, for many years, into 6-strings guitars. From now on, rehearsals had to become intense, and frequent, in the goal to, as soon as possible, be able to perform live. By the end of February, the band's first public performance, for a bunch of friends, took place. As a surprise party for Romain's birthday, some 10 friends showed up in the rehearsal room. The opinions were unanimous : there IS a future for the Women For Hank ! After working harder and harder, the day came, where the band finally got a real gig. May 28th 2005 is the date to remember, as being the first official Women For Hank show...Things went pretty fast after that. And, within a few months, and by the end of the summer 2005, a bunch of concerts in Paris, Normandie, and even Belgium took place... thanks to the band's will to take every, and any opportunity to perform in front of people. In order to keep on moving forward, and to book more and more shows, a 4 songs demo has been recorded in late September. Romain and Nicolas are currently road-tripping the US, distributing the demo around the country and its numerous venues...
