Later on today the 16th edition of Ieperfest kicks off, and we are all getting really excited about that! We surely hope you are too! Weather forecasts look OK for the weekend: not too hot with daytime temperatures just above 20°C and chances of an occasional shower. This is waaay better than the weather we had the last couple of days, so we are very pleased with that, and I’m sure you guys are as well!
As most of you already know, this year’s festival site will be bigger than the parking lot we had been using the last few years. There will be plenty of weekend and day tickets available at the door, so no need to worry you won’t get in!!
Sadly enough, we were informed about the fact that both the OUTBREAK and RINGWORM European tours were cancelled/postponed due to reasons beyond our control. Finding adequate replacements on such short notice isn’t a sinecure. However, we think we’ve done a great job and are more than proud to announce the presence of:
BETRAYED (USA) : Legendary US melodic hardcore four piece BETRAYED are coming over for an exclusive reunion show at Ieperfest 2008!! For those of you have been hiding under a rock the last few years, BETRAYED feature current and former members of much revered hardcore bands as CHAMPION, The FIRST STEP, TERROR, CARRY ON, STAND AND FIGHT, KNIFE FIGHT, INTERNAL AFFAIRS and The VOWS!! Holy fock yeah!!
RISE AND FALL(B) : Belgian hardcore heroes RISE AND FALL were found willing to hit the Ieperfest stage on Sunday August 24th! We are pleased they will play the fest, after they had to cancel their appearance last year extremely last minute!
Bank Card Terminal: For the first time in the history of the festival, it will be possible to pay your tickets at the entrance with your bank card. We provide this service since it’s not always safe to walk around a festival with large amounts of money in your wallet. It will also be possible to withdraw money. An extra cost of one euro per transaction will be charged for this service. E.g. if you want to withdraw 10 euro, you will have to pay 11.
We have been getting many question about showers on the camp site. We confirm that it will be perfectly possible to take that oh so wanted shower there!
Just as on previous occasions a large number of distros will be present: Arte Rock Influenza, Bones Brigade, Conspiracy, Eye Spy, Filled With Hate, Genet, GSR, Holy Shit!, Powered and 24 clothing.
