I am here for Friends

About Me

This adventure started on a sunny summer morning in Idaho. My very first best friend was my Grampa Pete. I have a broken sense of direction, the 'force' really isn't with me so I frequently take the scenic route and rely on maps. Bugs, spiders, and snakes don't bother me but I've never liked clowns or Santa Claus. I've loved and been loved passionately. The smell of lemon-scented anything, lilacs, leather, wet dog, grilled onions, horse-in-the-sunshine, and motorcycle shop makes me happy. My brother knows me better than anyone on the planet. Never outgrew the cheerleader thing. I've been friends with Patti since 4th grade. My Harley is absolute zen for me, my brother says I ride it "like a mean, mean man.... a really small mean, mean man". Favorite hoodie is from the old V-Twin motorcycle shop in Custer.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Markus Pierson, Lisa Loeb, Henry Rollins, Hugh Romney, Noam Chomskey, Arlo Guthrie, George Clinton, Bruce Fairweather.

You are Strength

Courage, strength, fortitude. Power not arrested in the act of judgement, but passing on to further action, sometimes obstinacy.

This is a card of courage and energy. It represents both the Lion's hot, roaring energy, and the Maiden's steadfast will. The innocent Maiden is unafraid, undaunted, and indomitable. In some cards she opens the lion's mouth, in others she shuts it. Either way, she proves that inner strength is more powerful than raw physical strength. That forces can be controlled and used to score a victory is very close to the message of the Chariot, which might be why, in some decks, it is Justice that is card 8 instead of Strength. With strength you can control not only the situation, but yourself. It is a card about anger and impulse management, about creative answers, leadership and maintaining one's personal honor. It can also stand for a steadfast friend.

Re-thinking retirement

Today my friend Teresa read my palm and her predictions were a little surprising, a bit comforting, a little stressing. I'm supposed to live into my 90's. This never happens in my family. We die...

Conspiring against me

I was going to meet some of you for a beer after work tonight but I had unfinished homework and what I thought was a healthy measure of self-discipline. So I came home and hit that hot, hot, page-turn...

Fearless Heart

Today a dear friend referred to himself as 'emotionally damaged' when it comes to relationships. I''ve thought about this all day and keep coming back to "Well, aren't we all to some extent?". If you'...
