About Me

Promotional Disc Review June 4, 2007 Featured Artist: M.A. Featured Disc: My Album Coming Soon 2007 Album Review Specialist – Judge H. Richer (Professional Music Critic) Marc Alexander, aliased M.A., recently released a promotional disc entitled My Album Coming Soon. This disc was released in order to promote M.A.’s upcoming album, to enhance the range of listeners across the areas, and also to obtain the highest rating based on the common five star/mic scale. Overall Disc Rating: 4.2/5.0 * * * * Highest Rated Song: Real Talk and Nigga,Nigga (Rated 4.9/5.0) Lowest Rated Song: Mr. Jones Freestyle (Rated 2.5/5.0) Predicted Chart Placement: 5/25 Predicted Single Request Placement: 3/10 Track Review: (All tracks featured on disc have been fairly reviewed by a trained specialist, and the artist has agreed to allow the specialist to release and publish included information.) Track 1: Introduction of M.A. – Use of extensive creativity and clever comparisons allow this introduction to warm-up the listener to get ready for an expected great piece of music. I love the use of various beats and concepts throughout the song which portray an excellent example of M.A.‘s talent. (Rating: 4.5/5.0) Track 2: Yea, Yea (produced by DJ Yogi) – This song is great single which can be used as a start off hit in order to promote more plays. It holds a great concept in which I feel everyone will enjoy and have fun with. Listeners will also enjoy the “shout-outs to the neighborhoods” in the song. The song is not flashy and overly-exaggerated like most first singles by artists which makes it fun to listen to. (Rating: 4.8/5.0) Track 3: Bounce Back With Two (produced by O.N.E.) – I especially love the hot beat produced by the local O.N.E. which includes a sample of the late Soulja Slim. This song also has a good concept in which M.A. sticks with throughout the entire song. However, I do feel that he could have included more of his creativity which is needed to go along with the great beat. (Rating 4.0/5.0) Track 4: Claimin’ I Ain’t A Beast (produced by O.N.E.) – This is what I consider an above average track. This means that the song has great lyrics and puns, but it doesn’t contain a consistent concept. It’s more of a mixtape track. (Rating 3.9/5.0) Track 5: West Baton Rouge – This is a very nice, gangsta/riding music type of track. A great example of neighborhood repping and also a watered down version of street life music in which the people would love and could relate to. (Rating 4.0/5.0) Track 6: We Gone Make It (Freestyle) – This is another above average mixtape track; instead this one includes clever lyrics and original pun lines. (Rating 4.5/5.0) Track 7: J-Walkin – The concept of Jordan sneakers can always be considered a hit. M.A. uses great comparisons to enhance the lyrics of the song. However, I do feel that the chorus/hook could be more “catchy” in order to capture the listeners’ attention off-front. (Rating 4.0/5.0) Track 8: Mr. Jones (Freestyle) – I really wasn’t feeling this track. To be honest, I think that this beat and M.A.’s lyrics did not connect. Maybe if he would have used a different beat and maybe if he had touched up his lyrics, the song would be better. (Rating 2.5/5.0) Track 9: T.V. Hoin – Excellent concept. I love the use of celebrities and the pun lines in this song. There’s no other way to put it- Good Job. (Rating 4.7/5.0) Track 10: Outside Bitch – Reality sells. This song exposes a situation in which many males everywhere can relate too. This song holds a great concept. It should also be a disc favorite amongst male listeners. (Rating 4.3/5.0) Track 11: How Ya Rockin (Snp.) (produced by Streetz) – The beat, produced by Streetz, reminds me of one Maxminelli’s song. It sounds as if it will be a nice song once released to the public. (Rating 4.5/5.0) Track 12: I Feel Good Nah (Snp.) (produced by Joka Boi) –This is a nice beat dressed up by a nice concept, topped off with nice lyrics. Almost a total package if the chorus was more vivid or explosive. (Rating 4.0/5.0) Track 13: Jump Stupid (Snp.) ft. Dude Blitz & Reno da Gutta (produced by O.N.E.) – I love this song. It’s a great club/buck song which can really get the audience involved. Also I know definitely the listeners can relate to lyrics. I can see this song on repeat in many CD players and on many MP3 players. (Rating 4.8/5.0) Track 14: Club Nite (Snp.) (produced by O.N.E.) – The title reviews the song for itself. It’s a hot, banging club song in which I can see the club jumping to on a Saturday night. This is another hit that I’m sure listeners will enjoy. (Rating 4.8/5.0) Track 15: Jungle Juice (Snp.) ft. Cage (of Down Bad) (produced by Cage) – This is one of my personal favorites. Of the club songs featured on this disc, I feel that this one is the best. It has a high level of energy and the lyrics are defiantly something the people will relate to and enjoy. It is also a song that they can have a lot of fun with. (Rating 4.8/5.0) Track 16: Amp’d Up (Snp.) (produced by Murda Beatz) – This song holds a nice chorus. These lyrics show a great example of M.A.’s ability to create a reality check vibe on a track. (Rating 4.5/5.0) Track 17: We Gone Party 2Nite (Snp.) (produced by Murda Beatz) – I love the concept. It flows right into the new phase of “partying” in 2007. It would really motivate listeners to party. It will be highly anticipated to be released. (Rating 4.5/5.0) Track 18: Neva Seen Deez (Snp.) (produced by Murda Beatz) – This is another shoe track which is a good concept. Many listeners will enjoy listening to the humorous comparisons and puns in the song. (Rating 4.6/5.0) Track 19: Nigga, Nigga – This is the best mixtape-based track on the promotional disc. It has great lyrics, a nice flow of words, and a really nice use of puns and creativity. This song shows a great example of M.A.’s talent. (Rating 4.9/5.0) Track 20: I Like Em’ – This song has a good concept and okay lyrics. I do feel this concept has been a little overused on the disc. (Rating 4.0/5.0) Track 21: Are You Ready 2 Go ft. Queen Hillary – This song has an original concept. The concept brings out the great and enjoyable lyrics by M.A. and featured artist Queen Hillary. The song reveals a pure friendship and fun relationship in which many listeners may have and can relate to. It is a nice pre-club song. (Rating 4.5/5.0) Track 22: White Girls – Humorous concept. It is a nice way to re-do a modern hit into something fun and interesting to. I enjoyed listening to this track. (Rating 4.6/5.0) Track 23: Real Talk – Self-Explanitory. (Rating 4.9/5.0) Track 24: My Shorti & My Shorti Pt. 2 (produced by DJ Yogi) – This is a song that I feel the female tracks will enjoy. They can relate to the nice lyrics which can boost their confidence. (Rating 4.5/5.0) Track 25: Outro Spit – The outro is a nice way to end the album. It shows M.A. variety of his style of rapping which may seem foreign to many local listeners. (Rating 4.7/5.0)I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
