I can't forget my love for the West Coast. My friend and fellow artist/producer NIP is another great influence to me. Everytime I feel like I come up a little this man is still steps ahead of me. Devin Patrick is the brainchild & mastermind of what is now Columbia, SC's most notorious record label. Voted SoundClick's hottest producer in SC, DP is a force to be reckoned with. He started rapping about 9 years ago along with his music career partner, Donta. DP ranges wide influences from
DMX, 2Pac, Dr Dre, Eminem, Hammer, Timbaland, & more. Eventually he put together an even bigger squad and eventually formed the label, 2Deep Records.
By 2003, He began making his own beats under his production company named
2Sick Beatz. He produced thousands of tracks locally and all across the world. Sometime in 2005, Devin was arrested and charged with the felony of Threatening the life of a Public Official after releasing the track Psycho Paths. In the track his dissed and lashed out at a local Sheriff's Deputy that had wrongly accused him of previous allegations. Thus more allegations where made from the song that he threaten the officer's life. Then sadly 2Deep Records began to fall off majorly.
Devin quit the music business then returned around middle 2006. He decided to change up his style and the way the label ran things... thus creating X-Rated Records. Devin Patrick began to recreate a modern Death Row type Gangster Rap image. He pioneered a gang of artists consisting of
MET G, HELLBOUND, CROWN ROYAL, MIXTAPE, J-KIDD, CLASSIC, RIPA, Quiet Thug, K1, OSIRIS, and JTL.
In 2008, Devin Patrick graduated from Midlands Audio Institute for Audio Engineering/Studio Recording and took classes in Graphic/Web Design and Photography. He worked around THE WORLD FAMOUS JAM ROOM RECORDING STUDIO, where he learned all he could from Jay. With the skills and brain power along with an elite roster of emcees X-Rated continues to reign high among the rest.
