Jason Stabbs

Jason Stabbs (Quentin Arrington) is a young entrepreneur from the Westside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a fantastic gift to make music that speaks to the streets. Growing up in Westgate Village with just a single parent (Gladys Mitchell) and too older siblings (Anitra Carey and Gregory Arrington jr.) he knew that he would have to raise his talents to great heights if he was going to make it in the music industry. As a young man he constantly perfected his craft to exceed what was expected of his age group. He also would take every opportunity to showcase his talents off in the cafeteria of his elementary school (Thaddeus Stevens Elementary) during lunch.
Going through school was a breeze for the young artist, he excelled in various subjects while continuing his quest to break into the music industry. While making his transition from middle school to high school he encountered people who would change his life forever. In the ninth grade he became friends with the members of a group called the “Dalinkwentz” and then made his debut appearance on their cd entitled “Start Of a Legacy”. Shortly after appearing on the groups cd, he began to receive recognition for his talents with request from others to appear on various projects they were hosting. Then one day when he was in the 11th grade he had a conversation with one of his friends Brandon *Squiddy Banks* Thomas who also shared his aspirations to break into the music industry. Together they created GMR Records a music label that they would use to showcase their musical talents and creativity from. After starting GMR Records J-Stabbs approached one of his close friends Cory *Smoove* Garmon about joining the label after hearing one of his 16bar raps which Stabbs was highly impressed with.
While getting the label together they were approached by another close friend Ohnedaruth *Ace* Swain about a productionist position, and that he knew of some other artist who were interested in joining the label (Thomas *Haze/T.G* Hazlip and Dwayne *Slink* Reeves) aka LID. They took them .. they showed their talent for beat making and lyrical content.
They later expanded even further with more editions to the label, One productionist (Marcelle *Cash* Turner) and a R&B singer (Brandon *B-Mac* Sherrell).They also had their own street team which went by the name of GIFI (Get in where you fit in) and was composed of family and close friends of the label members who did not do music on the label. The member were Andre *Miz* Swain, Joseph *J-Jewelz* Drewery, and William *CVB* an affiliated member from the rap group YSB.
He then began to think that he needed to establish himself as an artist beyond his own neighborhood so he then began to travel around the city doing songs with many different artist from all around the city. He has worked with many productions stationed in Pittsburgh and other cities such as Juliano a city native and Jae leezy also a city native now stationed in Cleveland Ohio.
The label has had it’s share of up’s and down’s. In February of 2007 the label released their first mix tape entitled *Real Recognize Real vol..1* which was a smash hit around local venues and neighborhoods. After graduating from Langley High School in 2006 and moving on to Edinboro University J-Stabbs had high hopes for the label and it’s artist, but a feud between artist which was highly influenced by outside forces forced the artist to split up. The label then reverted back to the original 6 members which are J-Stabbs, Smoove, Ace, B-Mac, Cash, and Squiddy Banks with Jamelle Tyler as the label. manager.
*Get Money Regardless* Real recognize real is the first mixtape to drop off of Get Money Regardless Records filled with songs of struggles that the rappers had to face and overcome at a young age. All of the songs and lyrics are written by the performers of the songs because we feel "if it ain't real it ain't us" So it would only make sense that every bar that you listen to, every chorus you dance to, every song you bop your head to is an statement made by this super label of heavy hitters. We will succeed so you can either watch us rise to the top in excitement or with disgust but one way or the other you will have no choice but to watch us escalate to rap moguls and well versed business men.
