The band was started in the summer of 2006 by Jane Mcdermott. She had an idea for a metal / rock band and managed to find rhythm guitarist Kieron Douglas very quickly. She then approached Robin O'Donnell, a bass player she had worked with previously and after a bit of gentle persuasion, he agreed to join.
Finding a drummer was a lot harder so Robin contacted Dave Cumming, a drummer he had played with for many years in metal band 'Read it and Weep', who filled the drumming throne for a while and after a couple of rehearsals, Constantine joined on the lead guitar as Sleeping Martyr started to take shape and find a direction.
The band were moving in a direction, which Jane not had originally planned so she and the rest of the band parted company.Constantine was to follow shortly after,along with a change behind the drums and a new guitarist in the shape of Martin.
Martin recently moved onto pastures new and has been replaced by newcomer Stewart Condie.
Over the next couple of months the band are throwing themselves into rehearsing new songs and bringing Stewart up to speed.
