"Emcee/Founder/CEO/ and Esquire..."
What's good people! For those who don't know, allow me to re-introduce myself. My name is Tracey Lee (a.k.a. TrayLee/TLEE/Tray) representing Philly,PA. Although I claim the Great City of Philly as my home due to the fact that this is where I was raised and learned all of the tricks of the trade, I was born in Buffalo, NY. Because of my mother's undying will and determination to escape the grips of poverty and create a better way of life for her and her only child at the time, I also lived in Albany,NY; New Orleans, LA; Baton Rouge, LA and Wilmington,DE, before finally settling down in Philly. As important as the city of Philly was to my development as a man and as an Emcee, so was the city of Washington, DC where I was a resident for 8 years. Four of those years I spent attending Howard University (The Greatest Institution for Higher Learning on the Planet!!!), and graduating with a Degree in Communications.
My experience at HU not only connected me with the likes of Sean "Diddy" Combs and Marlon Wayans but it also set the stage for this Philly Emcee to develop an eternal music relationship, as well as a brotherhood with my homies; from the Bronx (Pie, Bornagain, Feva R.I.P., Kenyaflow, H. Imperial and Coach K); from Newark "Brick City", NJ (Amiri "Middy" Baraka); and Wilmington,DE (Young Guru). Collectively this band of talented brothers is known as RNF/763.
My bad if I seem a little long winded. So, to make a long story short, my history in the music game includes being a signed hip-hop recording artist on the Bystorm/Universal Label from 1996-2000, thanks to Mark Pitts and Deric "D-Dot" Angelettie. While on the label I released an Album in 1997 entitled MANY FACEZ which included the "club banga," entitled THE THEME (Its Party Time), and also Featured Guest appearances by the Late Great Notorious B.I.G on KEEP YA HANDS HIGH and Busta Rhymes on THE THEME Remix. Shortly after being signed to a major label I started an Independent music company called Movement Musick, where a single was released entitled READY, WILLING and ABLE (Produced by Kage for Omnious Productions).
Currently, I am a recent Graduate of the The Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, LA where I received my Juris Doctorate in the field of Law. As an Attorney, I hope to not only put myself in a better position to navigate my way through the ups and downs of the music business, but also, and more importantly, I want to provide the type of guidance and knowledge to those that are new to the game that will enable them to make informed decisions, as it relates to their music careers.
I am very grateful for all of the experience and knowledge that I have been able to acquire while going through the trials and tribulations of the business. However, to be perfectly clear, even with all of the knowledge and education that I have been fortunate enough to obtain, YA MAN STILL SPITS FIRE!!!!!!
