Born G. Jean Charles (August 10th, 1985) in Grand-Islet, Haiti. Moved to Gonaives, Haiti with his family when he was 1 year old, escaped the evil doings of witches and demons after they tried to murder him as a baby involved the practicing of Haitian Voudou. Then, he moved to Belle Glade, Florida now known as Muck City when he was 14 years old. Known as G-Real from the group Born Alez back in 2001. He gave himself the stage name Jay Zo, Which means Last Haitian, based on black on black discrimination he faced growing up in Belle Glade, Florida. Full name ZO LYRIKKO: CUZ DAT HAITIAN NIGGA KNOCKS OUT LYRICS. Zo began jotting raps and tapping rhythms after his family settled in Belle Glade almost 10 years ago. Zo been dealing with the struggle since a little child, sharing a two bedroom apartment with his mother, father, three sisters, a little brother and later on his oldest sister and niece. Fighting wanna-be thugs all through the neighborhood, trying to avoid jail time, witnessing drug dealers from block to block seling drugs, sons getting locked up, brothers getting shot up, and fathers turning into crackheads and leaving home. As a very ambitious boy, he knew there was a better way to make it through life, so he stayed away from it all. Going to school as an honor student, he had college dreams at first, until he fell in love with Hip Hop and decided to use his music to express his feelings and letting out his pain.
Numerous emcee word battles, high school party freestylin' and short-lived bands later, the 23-year-old moved to Bradenton, Florida where he majors in Business/Psychology at Manatee Community College. He is marketing his hip-hop- and R&B-influenced songs on the Internet and via live performances. He writes his own lyrics and makes his beats. He produces his own music, makes graphic pictures, and directs his own videos.
