How I came about being a photographer:
About four years ago I was rear ended by a drunk driver. He was going about 65mph and I was at stop light. I suffered a back injury and I am still in pain till this day. This guy will never know how much he changed my life and the lives of people around me who had to take care of me. I couldn't walk on my own for about six months. I had to be on meds all the time in order to sustain the pain. I lost my job, my independence, and worst of all...my smile. About three years ago though, I got a call from a cousin of mine. She wanted me to take some pictures of her as a gift for her husband. See, I had always been into photography and I had always been the one person the family would call on for pictures. So even though I was still in some pain, I didn't want to let her down. The 9 hour shoot was such a success that it just hit me that I could possibly do this as a career. I went for it and it's been one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. It's just funny how this career of mine was always right there....only disguised as a hobby. I really believe that things happen for a reason. The accident did change my life and in many ways it's been really hard for me. But it also brought a lot of good things my way. Everytime I hold up my camera, it helps me remember that not every misfortune is a misfortune. Photography brought me back to life. One word of advice....PLEASE DON'T DRINK & DRIVE.....THINK about everyone else you can hurt....including yourself and your family. Remember that if you are the kind of person who thinks you can drive drunk with no problem....TRUST ME....it's just a matter of time before you regret it forever. Thanks for taking the time to read about me :)
