THEATRE PATAPHYSICAL

Nowhere is everywhere, but most of all it is the country we happen to be in at the moment.

About Me

Theatre Pataphysical make exciting, sexy, innovative and ground-breaking theatre. Theatre Pataphysical was formed in 2003 by Ryan Hartigan, soon joined by the collaborators who came together to produce the award-winning, smash hit and sold-out season of 'After Kafka' in 2004. We are a group that is particularly driven to restore the ‘liveness’ in live performance, and to produce work that experiments without needing to sacrifice the possibility that people might enjoy it. Since 2003, the group has carved out a name for producing consistently innovative theatrical work that has been both critically and popularly acclaimed. We have produced five seasons to date.Theatre Pataphysical have been developing a new theatre piece, 'lorca', over the last year. It has filled our dreams with Federico Garcia Lorca, Salvador Dali and the slapstick surreality of Charlie Chaplin. We are also working with an exciting and award-winning local writer, who has written a script that really scares us. Finally of all in the in-tray, we are thinking heavily about returning to some unfinished business in the near future. We adore past and present 'Pataphysicians. But only in a highly esteemed and respect-you-in-the-morning-way.

You're Watership Down!
by Richard Adams
Though many think of you as a bit young, even childish, you're actually incredibly deep and complex. You show people the need to rethink their assumptions, and confront them on everything from how they think to where they build their houses. You might be one of the greatest people of all time. You'd be recognized as such if you weren't always talking about talking rabbits.
