7.7.08 -- Happy to report that Allison has won her second of three WPBA events in 2008. Her most recent win came at the Great Lakes Classic in Michigan City, IN, an event she's won four times! It was an exciting finish to the week where Kelly Fisher paired against Sarah Ellerby in the first semi-final match and Allison was up against Karen Corr for the second semi. Both Kelly and Allison won their match to face each other in the finals. Kelly Fisher came out firing and jumped to an early 2-0 lead but failed to pocket a routine 6-ball in the third game. Allison went on to win the next three games and Kelly never regained the lead. It was a hard fought battle by both players as Allison went on to win 7-4 claiming her 53rd WPBA title!
4.26.2008 -- Congratulations to Allison for going undefeated and winning the first WPBA event of the year at the Viejas Casino in San Diego, CA... You might notice that Allison has switched cues for the first time in over 10 years! She is now playing with an inlayed Cuetec cue with the new R360, non-deflective shaft. She is so pleased with the balance and accuracy and it provides her more confidence and control. (The cue will be in her signature line soon so please email [email protected] for more details.)
11.2007 -- Allison Fisher finished the WPBA season in classic style winning her 8th Nationals and 70th International title at the Chinook Resort and Casino in Lincoln City, OR! We are all anxious to see if Allison will receive her 12th Player of the Year title...
The WPBA decided to go with a 48-player field, round-robin format, which is different from the normal 64-player, double-elimination. Allison went undefeated in the preliminary rounds with dominating performances only losing five games in the first three matches. She secured the #1 seat in the final 16 round with a 76% game win percentage. The highest of all players with Kelly Fisher in the #2 seat at 70%.
Allison continued playing well in the first round with a victory over Sarah Rousey, then played Hsing Huang, who had an outstanding tournament, but came up a little short in the final match of the night. Allison and Jeanette Lee squared off in the first TV semis. The match started off fairly close but Allison widened the gap after game five and never looked back. Kelly Fisher came through in the second semis against Ga Young Kim in a thrilling 7-6 victory and looked forward to the chance at a National Title.
The finals was one of the most superb exhibitions of perfect pool I have ever seen. Allison did not miss a ball or position for the first five racks and took a quick 5-1 lead. She missed a ball in rack seven but went on to play a near flawless set, and took the title from Kelly with a 7-2 victory. It was a special win!
10.2007 -- CONGRATULATIONS to Allison for winning her 3RD US OPEN IN A ROW and crowning her 50TH WPBA CLASSIC TOUR TITLE! We are so proud of you and your effort to continuously prove that you are the greatest player ever!
07.2007 -- Allison recently won the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino event in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This event capped off her 49th WPBA CLASSIC TOUR TITLE!!! Allison now holds 36 Regular WPBA Titles and 23 Major WPBA Titles...
“I am really pleased! I played solidly throughout the tournament and kept getting stronger with each performance.†-- Allison
Hi and thanks for checking out my space! I really appreciate your visit and comments.
A little bit about me: I have been playing pool professionally in the US for the last 12 years nearly. I grew up in Peacehaven, England, which is a very small seaside town on the South Coast. I started playing Snooker when I was 11 on a small table and graduated to a full size table (12 x 6) when I was 12. I won my first National event at 15 and World Championship at the age of 17. My parents have been my best supporters and friends. I have 2 brothers, David and Simon, and two wonderful nieces, Kate and Eve. I love my family dearly.
I came over to America in September 1995 on a one- way ticket. I sat on the plane and wondered what I was doing... Well, here I am and it was the best decision I ever made. Aside from competing, I make public appearances all over the World and I teach. I have an Academy in Charlotte, NC and I am lucky enough to teach with my good friend and competitor Gerda Hofstatter www.gerdahofstatter.com. For my fans and friends: I want to thank you for your support and kind words. I look forward to the rest of my journey with you.
Please do not be offended if you send a comment which simply says "Thanks for the add" and it is not posted...these merely take up space and push out other's comments.
I would like to thank Kristi for editing and maintaining the friend requests, comments and messages and my friend Tina for all of her help with the design and graphics.
