Turns out not where but who you're with that really matters.

About Me

I love living in Chicago and I can't think of anywhere else I'd rather live, especially in the summer.
Life has been crazy for me between training and taking care of Fritz, but I guess it has helped me to be more organized. I just completed the Steelhead 70.3 Triathlon in 5:53:00. This was faster than I thought I would do, so that is good. I definitely could have trained for it more. I'm taking a week off and then I'm starting training for the Chicago Marathon. Check out my race page for more details and training updates. I have introduced Fritz to running and he loves it. It is weird when I go on longer runs without him.
I'm a big Cubs, Bears, and Illini fan. The Cubs are really ticking me off and I'm not really happy about the Lou Pinella hiring and the way they spent money this offseason. I'm boycotting this season and just chalking it up to a loss. The Bears season was great even though they lost the Superbowl. I'm looking forward to see what they can do next season. It is always fun to watch Illini games at a bar with all of my fellow Ilini fans. The football team should be better this year and we'll see what Bruce can do with the basketball team next year. Whatever he does, it will have to be more fun to watch than this year.
Other than that, I'm just having a good time hanging out with friends, whether it be getting together at someone's place to hang out or going out for drinks, we always have a good time.

10K, 50.54 min 8:11 per mile.

My fastest 10K of the year according to Lance Armstrong. So I'm enjoying my nike+. I've been running, but my mileage is not where it should be, so I'll have to work on that. Tonights run went well...

My first 10K of the year!

And it went pretty well. I ran just over 9 minute miles, but that's okay with me. I'm feeling good, but I need to run more and get some swimming and biking in as well so I can do well in my triathlons...

more swimming and running.

I went swimming lastnight and continued to work on my drills. I'm feeling a lot less sore today and I feel like I'm swimming more efficiently, so that's a good sign. 6 mile run today. It went much be...

A post about something besides training.

Fritz always wants to pull on his leash. I had a gentle leader for him, which fastens just behind his ears and goes over his nose. He was more controllable on it, but still pulled and even started wea...

Back to working out

So I ran for the first time since the marathon on Tuesday. I went 4 miles just to get back into things. The run went okay, but when I finished, my knee was hurting. Then on the drive to work, my quad ...
