I've grown to understand more and more that it has become my outlet and my medium to glance inward toward a greater understanding of myself and my hopes. It helps illuminate my character and facilitates the realization of my goal to be honest in life. When I'm sad, I play. When I'm angry, I play. When I'm happy, I play. I play songs over and over again and don't enjoy them any less. Music allows me to creatively contort melodies which were famliar to me even before I learned how to play. Singing and playing guitar allows me to escape harsh reality, but also to envision where I really want to be in life and how I want to get there. I won't say that my music defines me, but it is certainly my most precious gift, most fulfilling talent, and most practiced skill.
