Formed in early 2006, The Bridesmaids are the brainchild of Brandon and Tom (both formally of Footlong), who wanted to not only go beyond the scope of their previous band but to go there with other players that are as much fun offstage as onstage. Thinking that finding a suitable vocalist would be their biggest challenge they began searching in many different forums. Sorting through many different contenders, some of which had potential and many who did not, they came across John, a transplant from Los Angeles who had just settled down in the Bay Area and was getting the itch to perform again. The stars seemed aligned and the personalities all clicked, but there was still one element missing: a guitarist.
Ironically enough we thought we would fill the guitar slot before a vocalist arrived, but that was not the case as Brandon explains..."I went to Kyle as a friend asking for his help with the audition being that he knew many of the same songs Tom and I did from playing them with his previous band Snapper. It worked great and that's where we first saw the band's chemistry." Thinking that Kyle would not be able to commit to the project several alternate people were suggested to fill the guitar slot, but none of them seemed to be able to truly fit the bill as well as he did. "Instead of looking further we just asked him if he wanted to do it, and he said yes." It turned out to be an inspired choice.
Armed with a large song repertoire, The Bridesmaids are lighting up the circuit with their octane-fueled style of modern rock and pop covers all while exhibiting an endless array of diversity, fire and showmanship. In other words, not only do they sound damn good, they also are a whole lot of fun to watch (or, as often the case, participate with!) Anyone who witnesses a Bridesmaids show realizes they are not seeing just another cover band; they are finding themselves in the midst of a unique blend of musicianship, positive emotional energy, fun and one hell of a party!
