About Me

Upcoming Shows:
Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters - April 24
Alejandro Escovedo - May 29

SugarHill Studios has a long history of working with Houston Pacifica affiliate, 90.1, KPFT, over the years. Since the 1970s SugarHill has hosted many live broadcasts for KPFT from its legendary Studio A including Little Feat's infamous KPFT radio broadcast in 1972.

In February 2006, SugarHill and KPFT collaborated to record an in-studio performance by the Phillidelphia band, Marah (Yep Roc Records). The show aired on DJ Rhonda Garner's weekly indie rock radio show, radioACTIVE on KPFT 90.1FM. With this broadcast, the popular show, The SugarHill Sessions was born.
Garner and then SugarHills Marketing Director/Engineer, Heba Kadry, had been brainstorming about hosting a locally produced radio show from SugarHill for some time. The Marah performance/interview became the prototype for what has become one of the most popular radio shows in Houston..
The SugarHill Sessions airs once a month (last friday of every month) on Houston's Pacifica KPFT 90.1FM at 2pm, and has hosted notable local, regional and national artists.Show your support for independent/unsigned music and let us know your thoughts about each show.
