Full-Length Debut Coming in Early '08!

About Me

Band Bio:
Summer in the suburbs tends to yield little more than scores of under-stimulated teenagers, free bus rides mandated by Code-red temperatures, and a hot and sticky city-wide lethargy that discourages most from venturing even so much as beyond their air-conditioned homes. But in the summer of 2006, Some Like it Hot founding members Greg Parker and G’Ra Asim- then only 17 and 19 respectively- set out to ante up and transcend the sleepy ennui of Rockville, Maryland or fry trying. The two immediately began recording an EP’s worth of home demos in guitarist/producer Parker’s bedroom, writing and arranging the sound of a full band with only two instrumentalists and no lead vocalist. Days before the demo was complete, the pair had still failed to account for the lack of a singer when Parker suddenly remembered a church acquaintance from his high school days who had displayed promising pipes. A wild goose chase for the prospective frontman’s contact information followed, and within a week 18-year-old Jase Crammer had not only officially joined the ranks of the upstart power-punk outfit but had completed tracking vocals for what would become Some Like it Hot’s debut demos.
Tentatively releasing the freshly completed tracks to a handful of friends and family, the trio was pleasantly surprised to find that with virtually no promotion or outside impetus the five songs made splashes on the Internet and local music radar. Emboldened by the enthusiastic response to what could only reasonably be considered as a fraction of the group’s potential, Crammer, Parker and Asim scrambled to make provisions that would allow them to pursue the band full-time. College scholarships were deferred, massive credit card charges were made at the local Guitar Center, and leases were signed. 9 months, some 25 local shows, and 12 demos later, the band- now joined by bassist Rory Raley and drummer Steve Cohen- managed to catch the ear of former Early November frontman and current Regular Music label chief Ace Enders, who offered to produce their impending full-length debut. Set to begin sessions with Enders this winter, the fast-rising quintet are less than a year into their tenure and already poised to deliver their refreshingly intelligent and eclectic approach to youthful, hook-driven rock to the masses. Couple this with the group’s kinetic and ever-evolving live show and it’s a small wonder that the sum of those who like it hot is rapidly outgrowing those who don’t.
