About Me

I write songs. I write a LOT of songs. I can't help it. They just come to me. They always get recorded, in some way or another, but they don't always get heard by anyone. Sometimes those songs get recorded several times, and sometimes those recordings get fashioned into an album. That's happened more times than we should go on about. Sometimes the songs get recorded and then just go away. Sometimes they stay at the forefront of my mind, and sometimes they elude me. They have never made me any money, but they have made me very wealthy, in other ways. Sometimes I lend my musical chops to other artists, but I usually keep to myself. I release albums on my own label, Flying Dachshund Music....FDM for short....which are akin to the "bootleg" variety. I also release discs on my other label, Bootleg Records, which is sometimes more of the same, and sometimes truer to name. Currently, I am trying to get a grip on my older songs....the new ones always get in the way and make me forget.....the new ones are usually the best ones, however. There are many new albums in the works. There are always new albums in the works. There shall also be a return to the live stage before too long. There is nothing better than playing live.....and there is nothing worse than dealing with playing live. Still, I would throw caution to the wind for the chance to tour (if anyone needs an opener...you know who to call). I've been in bands before, some of them were great and some were just dumb fun, but they never worked out in the end. It has been seven years since the last one. A new one would be great, but also not so, in other regards. Change comes quickly. Songs happen fast. It is devastating and glorious, all at once. As Frank Zappa put it - music is the best. And that is true. Listen to the songs. Check out the official website for access to hundreds more, as well as more info anyone would ever need to know. It is more than an obsession, stronger than addiction, and far beyond passion. It just is.
This is what I do. I hope you like it.
