Instructed by under the watchful gaze of house legend J.P (John Paul), Vimo gladly cut his teeth on some of the veteran deckmeister€™s lesser bar gigs. In less than 12 months, Vimo€™s natural DJ flair, fluent mixing & impeccable taste in music found him DJing in the most popular bars & lounges in & around London.Returning to South Africa in late 1998, Vimo preferred to slink quietly into clubland rather than charge headlong headfirst into a professional DJ career. A 2-year stint playing in commercial venues laid the groundwork before Vimo moved on conquer PE€™s legendary underground scene. In his hometown, Vimo currently presides over residencies for Castro€™s, The Lennox, XXXtreme & 52 Parliament but cites the latter as his preferred PE club for its insane vibe, great décor, friendly patrons, unparalleled underground music policy.Heavily influenced by international DJ/Producer Armand van Helden & local PE demigod DJ Munro, Vimo has carved & cultivated skilled rhythms & a unique american tinged house sound that never fails to tear dancefloors apart, leaving fortunate witnesses in complete awe of his accomplished technical ability. His signature €˜Chutney House€™ sound is a funky blend of deep tech grooves, achingly cool electro & sleazy dancefloor funk that places him in a league of his own.Vimo has held residencies in the most popular local nightclubs & headlined the biggest parties in & around Port Elizabeth. Not satisfied to engulf the dancefloors of Splash, H20, Natural Groove, Sweet Sessions, Nexus, ESP, Truth, Sutra, The Fez, Dockside, Pop Art, & Panama Room in utter bassline filth, Vimo has also preformed in support of internationals such as Carl Cox, Tiesto, Sister Bliss, Tom Novy, Ian Carey Tim Deluxe, Amos & Healy, DJ Sammy, Kaskade, Alex Kid & Greenskeepers amongst others.The stratospheric rise in Vimo€™s profile during 2006 continues unabated with imminent launch of new musical elements to this DJ€™s already potent mix.
