Rock´n Roll is here to stay. Take two guitars, bass, drums and some urgent vocals: You´ll get a formula as immortal as a string quartett, a choir, a symphony orchestra, whatever. The name tunesmith was inspired by a book written by the famous American songwriter Jimmy Webb.
The music of tunesmith is deeply influenced by great music from the 60ies and 70ies. Just to name a few bands and artists: The Kinks, The Beatles, The Stones,The Beach Boys, David Bowie, Iggy&The Stooges, Motown stuff...
Neverthenless, tunesmith is not a retro band. They just try to catch the vibe of that golden era, the production is quite modern. (Yes, a lot of sampling and editing on the recordings, even if you might not hear it immediately.)
Klaus is the lead vocalist and plays guitar, Sash, the former bass player, now replaces former founding member Phil on vocals and guitar. Klaus and Sash know each other way back from the time they spent together at the Vienna Music University . Bass duties are now handled by Stuart, a fine young jazz pianist from Glasgow who is also a great bass and guitar player. Michael, our drummer, studied at the Berklee College of Music/USA.
Yes, they´re all accomplished musicians, still they don´t suck, so check out one
of their truly RAW live performances, you won´t be disappointed. For the love of music...
