About Me

THE JARS is a modern power-rock trio from Denver Colorado. Originally a side project to create filler music for television and film soundtracks, the members of THE JARS saw no reason not to go ahead and play live and rock your face. The unique combination of familiar songs performed in modern context provides a firm base for a great show, so they say.
JEREMY LAWTON (bass, vocals)
Jeremy has lived in the Denver area since graduating from DU in 1994 with a commercial music degree. Since, he has experienced local and regional success as a record producer and engineer. Jeremy has been involved in hundreds of local and national recording projects, and recently received a RIAA certified Gold Record award for his work with EMI gospel artist SMOKIE NORFUL. In addition, he has played for a number of successful local acts, including SHERRI JACKSON, the PSYCHODELIC ZOMBIEZ, NINA STOREY, MATTHEW MOON, and many others. Jeremy can also be seen on tour since 2003 with multi-platinum-selling artists and Colorados own BIG HEAD TODD AND THE MONSTERS.
GLENN ESPARZA (guitar, vocals)
Since winning a 1991 award from Yamaha as one of the country's top ten unsigned bands for his work with SIC-EM FIFI, Glenn has experienced success both as a songwriter and a performer. During his two-year stint playing bass for critically acclaimed band JERRY JOSEPH and LITTLE WOMEN, Glenn and Joseph co-wrote the song Climb to Safety, which appeared on the WIDESPREAD PANIC album 'til the Medicine Takes. Since, Glenn has played with Hybrid/Warner recording artist SHERRI JACKSON, and local favorites MATTHEW MOON and CHUTE 9. Glenn also enjoys a successful recording and writing career and has had some international success through the BBC for songs he wrote for the English band BABAKUUL.
MATT BILLINGSLEA (drums, vocals)
Matt Moved to Denver from the musical and cultural hotbed of Columbus, Ohio in the late 1990s after successfully completing an accounting degree. Since, he has performed with local greats AUBREY COLLINS, MATTHEW MOON, and TEN TIERS. In his non-musical time in Denver, Matt performed accounting duties for one of Denver's finest waste-management firms. Matt has since retired from said noble profession to Nashville, TN where he wiles away the hours drumming for local and national touring acts like RUSHLOW-HARRIS, SOUTHLAND, and KEN JOHNSON. I don't think he's had to wear a cowboy hat, yet.
