First I must thank my Lord Jesus Christ for coming in the world in the form of man, dieing for me, and rising on the third day so that I may have real life in this world and the world to come. I also thank Him for this unique gift of voice, which has made room for me in this industry.
This radio journey has been one filled with both laughter, and tears. However I can say I enjoy my life, and every day is a new adventure. God has truly ordered my journey, and I look forward to even much greater days to come. I have experienced a world much bigger than the one I was accustomed to growing up.
I grew up a fatherless young boy in West Philadelphia with no clue as too what was ahead of him. Little did I know that I would one day work beside, and be admired by some of the same people in the media I looked up too as role models for what I would one day become. These people are haunted by some of the same concerns and convictions as I am, as victoms of this state we call humanity.
I spent most of my college life studying Art as well as Education. I eventually graduated from what is now known as Eastern Univercity in Saint Davids, Pa. My radio years began in the basement of a small church in South West Philadelphia. My voice and program at this time we're broadcast throghout the airways at 10 watts. I later found myself at Philadelphia's contriversial WXPN FM, a sation funded by the University of Pennsylvania. I was one of the audiences favorite air personalties for The Blue Genesis Jazz Show. I then traveled to New Jersey where I did time at WTMR AM Radio. It was there that I birthed one of the first radio broadcasts of Inspirational Jazz. I called it The Progressive Gospel Experience which was way ahead of its time then. This would one day become "Expressions" Inspirational Jazz, which I currently perform on a national level. (You can read more about "Expressions" on my other site. myspace.com/wwwexpressionscom). I spent 2 years at WURD 900 AM then known as Love 900. I did one of there gosple music programs. I eventually landed at WNAP known to world as Gospel highway 11 where I spent several successful years as their PM Drive Air Personality.
I spent two years as staff producer, promotional team member, Imaging, and voice over specialist among other things at the nations greatest talk radio station WHAT 1340 AM. (www.what1340i.com). in particular it was a priveledge to produce for my good friend Ms. Thera Martin Connolly.
It is now an honor be part of the WJJZ FM family, which has returned to the Philadelphia area at 97.5 frequency. I am expecting some great things to materialize as I become better aquainted with the smoothest place on your radio...Smooth Jazz WJJZ.
