BANGIN ON THE TABLES

When you see an open hand and a closed fist what do you think? Think back to the very essence of hip hop itself and what do you see? Way before there was a Break Dancing or Graffiti. Way before there was a human beat box or singing party chants over breaks beats and loops. Before grandmaster flash thought about scratching a record, before we had mpcs and protools, we were Banging on the Tables. Think back to the time when music was true to every issue. When music was truly an art form. We did it on the lunch room table, on the kitchen table, garbage cans, and chairs. We didn’t care. We just wanted to supply a rhythm with a thumping bass kick and a hand clap to anyone who had something to say. Not long ago, in a small town called Southside Jamaica queens, four guys who shared a passion for raw art and genuine artistry decided to take on the task of keeping hip hop where it always was, in the heart, with and for the people. Corprate Chris, Big City, Benny H and Shatown are like earth, wind, fire and water. Bringing all the raw elements together to bring forth hip hop today as it should have been for always. They stress the fundamentals of being true to oneself, Being true to the music and letting the chips fall were they may. With an unrelenting hunger and a desire to see the truth come to the light, together they bring you Banging on the Tables.
