I leave with my past tucked away, deep inside of me. Nothing more than a ghost. Now watch me burn and change tomorrow"

I am a philanthropist and obsessive-compulsive political activist who loves fashion, good food, traveling, friends, her family, the arts, the beauty of micro-finance and string theory (not combined) and a Trek 5200 (not specifically in that order). If you don’t “get” that, you don’t stand a shot in hell of ever understanding or getting to know me.
I am a lover of languages and can read Arabic, Cyrillic, Greek and Spanish. I can be very passionate about the world, I want to live for the moment and in the moment - taking nothing for granted. I am the ultimate geek, subscribing to Scientific American, Discovery, Foreign Affairs and Smithsonian Magazines. But I am a die-hard fan of fashion and it's photographers as well (Meisel, Steven Klein, Ellen Von Unwerth, Bruce Weber, D'Orazio).

I want to make saving the world cool. It shouldn't be a struggle to make people care. Everyone should take the time to read the introduction to Jeffrey Sachs "The End of Poverty." This generation has the collective power to change the world, make history - if we care enough to do it. If we simply care...

I respect people even if I don't agree with their philosophies. I have come to believe that my simple gestures help to make the world a better place. I treat other people's lives with the same regard that I would treat my own. I have removed myself from judging others, because it’s not my place to judge – it’s my place to “be.”

I believe in trusting my instincts because I steer myself wrong every time I follow rational thought. I believe in love. I believe in soul mates. I don't believe that the love of your life or your soul mate are necessarily the same person. I also don't believe that that person has to take the form of your "mate." It could be a friend, a relative, a child...a dream. I believe that there is someone out there who has been looking for me just as I have been looking for them.

I believe I forage my way though life based on memories that I cannot recall but only sense. I have an old soul. The characters and places of my dreams generally don't parallel my waking life. I see dragonflies as gaurdian angels.

Dress for the moment, live life...have fun doing it. Make a difference and make it yours. Life is a series of open doors, where one closes...another opens, but it's hell in the hallways. Keep an open mind, keep learning. You'll never know everything and ignorance eventually manifests as hate disguised in fear. Live a life where you are constantly performing random acts of kindness and sensless acts of beauty.

I beleive if you dream your dreams with open eyes you can make them come true. I believe we all have a purpose here.
