MIKKEL NORDSOE (aka Nordsø) - born 1955

1966: Studied flamenco guitar with Danish virtuoso, CHRISTIAN SIEWERT at age 11 years.
1970: Member of PALLE MIKKELBORG’S V8 project at age 15 years.
1973: Founding member of BUKI-YAMAZ, a groundbreaking Danish latin-funk group.
1980-85: Lead guitarist in the popular SNEAKERS group with singer SANNE SALOMONSEN. Also with the group ANIMA featuring Kenneth Knudsen & Ole Theill.
1985: MIKKEL NORDSØ BAND was founded, creating a platform for composing, which has released 7 albums.
ACCOUSTIC GUITARS is another trio featuring Mikkel Nordsoe. So far releasing 4 albums.
BOMBAY HOTEL is another group featuring Mikkel Nordsoe with 2 albums released.
TIMEWAVE is a band of the Nordsoe family, featuring a.m.o. percussionist brother KLAUS NORDSOE and cousine TINE REHLING, harp soloist.
MIKKEL NORDSOE has recorded/performed with an endless number of renowned artist in Denmark and abroad. He has toured in Scandinavia, Europe, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Guatemala, Indonesia, Morocco, South Africa, Ghana, Mali ,India and Thailand.
2004: Renowned conga player, RAUL REKOW (US) joins Mikkel Nordsø Band when not touring with SANTANA.
2005: Played at Lakshminarayana Global festival 2005 in Bangalore, India, with among others Dr. L. SUBRAMANIAM, KAVITA KRISHNAMURTHI, STANLEY CLARKE and GEORGE DUKE and Copenhagen Jazzfestival with THOMAS CALUSEN OKTET featuring GARY BURTON (US) . Performed also at Bombay and Delhii Jazz Festivals.
2006: Performed at the Hua Hin Jazzfestival, Thailand. Release of “Live at Copenhagen Jazzhouse†with Mikkel Nordsø Band.
2007 : Touring DK with Lan Doky project featuring DAVID SANBORN, RANDI BRECKER, TERRI LYNE CARRINGTON, GINO VANNELLI and LISA NILSSON.
Played as session musician on about 200 albums, filmscores, theatre music, ballet music, radio and TV appearances and played & recorded with among others GUINGA & CARLOS MALTA (Brasil) L.
