I absolutely love (American) Professional Football. I watch it, I go to training camp (Vikings), I talk about it, I collect the cards, just about every aspect of the sport, I am interested in. I enjoy meeting "cool" people, (mean people really suck), I like to be a people watcher, I like to go to locals bars for music (I don't drink nor do I smoke cigarettes) but that does not mean that I do not know how to have fun and it certainly does not mean that I don't have fun because I most assuredly know how to do that and I do that quite regularly. LOL Just ask my boyfriend about the family bathroom at Wal-Mart! Geeze you dirty minded people! I may be 40 years old but my 27 year old boyfriend will tell you right off that I do know how to have fun and I certainly can keep up with him physically. Also, when you see my pics you will see that I do not look even close to 40 years old. I look young enough to attract guys even younger than my boyfriend! So do not expect a bunch of saggy and wrinkly skin when I do get my pics located and on my My Space Page. Basically my interests are music and getting that college degree!
Okay, Now I have to redo this. I just accidentally erased this section. Crap! I really want to meet Joseph Thomas Elliot. Better known as Joe Elliot - front man for Def Leppard. If I could pick only one, he would definately be it. Others include soap actor Eric Braedan and soap actress Jeanne Cooper. Eric plays Victor Newman on Y&R and Jeanne Cooper plays Katherine Chancellor on Y&R. I have my favorite football players. American football that is. I have met former Viking Robert Smith (among most every other Viking at training camp). Robert Smith was the only one who left me speechless. I usually have a real motor mouth. When I had Robert Smith standing in front of me, the only word (yep - a single solitary word) I could speak was "Thanks". My voice cracked as I said this to him as he was handing me back one of his rookie cards that I had him sign. I just know that he was impressed! LOL He is the only person ever in my life that has left me speechless like that. I would also like to meet Warren Sapp, Mike Alstott, Brett Favre, Michael Bennett (met this one briefly - was able to talk). LOL John Gruden would be the coach I most want to meet. John Lynch is an interesting player. I like alot of the Bucs from when they won the Superbowl. All my favorite Viking (former) players are gone with the wind. Chris Carter was awesome when I met him. One that I never really cared for and never even tried to get his autograph the times that I saw him was Randy Moss. He amazed me more than once but his attitude and the way he acted during games really made me ill. With the right quarterback (who needs a good offensive line) Mr. Moss was like the superhuman wide receiver. Basically any NFL player who catches my eye (either on the field or in those football pants)(tee-hee-hee)I am interested in seeing what all I can find out about him. I also want to meet the Chapman (Bounty Hunters) family. I hate what they are going through right now. It is very wrong! They take a serial rapist off the streets and then the authorities want to make their lives a living hell for doing their job for them. That Luster guy should get extra time for fleeing the country after raping those 37 women. I mean 36 of the charges stuck. Andrew Luster is pure skum and all 37 fathers and brothers should be able have some alone time with this piece of trash. Trash is actually too good of a word for him. An extreme amount of love and prayers go from my family to the Chapman Family in Hawaii. It would be really nice to someday meet Adrian Paul. He was the finest Highlander that ever existed. I haven't seen or heard a thing on him since Endgame. I hope that he is doing well and taking care of his extremely fine self. Speaking of fine individuals whom I would like to meet, another one that pops into my mind is Bret "The Hitman" Hart. "Pro" wrestling is not even close to what it use to be. But this man represented what wrestling was really about. He had standards and heart when he was wrestling professionally. He would not be "pushed around" or "owned" by anyone and I believe that is why he retired from it in the first place. Like Shawn Michaels could actually pin this man! That is a good one. No disrespect to Mr. Michaels as a wrestler but even he knows that he could not have ever beat the "Hitman" in a match that was not already pre-determined who'd win. This could also possibly be why the "Hulkster" never would wrestle the "Hitman". Anyway, It would definately be a dream come true to meet Bret Hart. Loads of my love is sent north to him and his family. Kisses to Bret Hart! I have met several celebrity type people. I think that the first "famous" person that I met was David Hasselhoff. That was like 20 years ago. He was still riding on the popularity of Knight Rider. He was at a car show in Kansas City, MO. I use to watch him on Y&R when I was around 8 or 9 years old. Over the years I have met several more actors (from soaps mostly) and musicians. My favorite country musician that I have met is Marty Stuart. He is a very warm and giving person. Too bad he is married. I could so fall for that guy. Reality is now setting back in. LOL My favorite musician that I have met would have to be Bret Michaels and the band Stryper. Namely the drummer, Robert Sweet. Meeting them all was awesome and I will never forget it but I had always wanted to meet Robert Sweet. It took me 19 years to do it but I did get it done. Meeting Bret Michaels was one of those experiences that gives you butterflies the size of Texas! The first time I met him my mind went completely blank. But I managed to pull it together enough to have somewhat of a conversation with him. Not like that fiasco of a meeting with Robert Smith. Bret was so genuinely ,well I just can not think of the right word. But the few minutes that I had with him, I had his full attention and that makes a person feel appreciated. I appreciate all that he does for his fans mostly though the time that he takes for them as his health permits. Many more kisses to you Bret! We will meet again and I am sure that you will be just as gracious as the other times that we have met. When I met the guys from Slaughter (before and after the death of Tim Kelley) I was very impressed because it did not matter how busy they were they would stop and talk, take pics, sign autographs, basically whatever the fans wanted. You can tell when a band really appreciates their fans. This band definately does. I really hate the "Who do you want to meet?" questions. I always forget to put down someone I want to meet when I fill out something like this. So we either just all pick the one we most want to meet or I can just add whoever as I remember them! LOL
I grew up mainly (formative years) in the 70's so I do like 70's music. I also like the 80's and 90's music. I do not like too awful much rap or hip hop. Though there are a few artists and songs that I really enjoy. My favorite band (of all time) is Def Leppard. I could talk endlessly about these guys. I love them! I like rock, oldies, classic rock, metal - alot but not all of. I use to go to this club here in St. Joseph, Mo. I am really liking that song by Buck Cherry right now "Crazy Bitch". Velvet Revolver is sweet. But I still have lots of love (lust actually) for Axel Rose. I still want to hear him live to see how he really sounds. I also really like the band (Christian Rock) Stryper. I have met them a few times and Michael Sweet has a voice that is out of this world! Say what you want but I really like Poison. After all of these years they still pack the people in. I just saw them back in June with Cinderella (sweet guitarist - Jeff)! and Verizon Wireless (Bonner Springs, Ks.) was pretty well stocked with fans. I have met Bret Michaels a few times and he really is a great person that has more to offer than his nice (very) body and his very good voice. You know like his soft lips - LOL, sincerely though, he is not the perv that I thought that he would be considering all they sing about (basically) is sex. He has his own thing going musically and the stuff is very good. And It is not all about sex either. I was surprised, pleasantly. About the only type of music that I just can not stomach too much of is classical. Again there are a few pieces that I enjoy. Like "The Flight Of The Bumblebee". I like quite a bit of country. Not all of it though. Country singers are a dime a dozen. If you don't listen to the country stations for like a month, you have missed out on like 3 new singers! I love to listen to Rob Zombie and Godsmack. I saw them a few weeks ago together at verizon in Bonner Springs, KS and it was the best. It was my first time to see Rob and my 2nd time to see Godsmack. And it definately was not the last time for me to see either. The base in their music just grabs me and I don't want it to EVER let go of me. Also a band out of Chicago called MAZARENE is right up there also. They have a show in Overland, MO on Nov. 10th that I am going to go check out. If any of you like Zombie type (and even harder) then check this band out. You can get info on them here on myspace through their guitarist nikk skum. I met the members of Journey at the Quest Center in Omaha, Ne (10-22-06) at a pre-show party held there through iloveallaccess.com I was overwhelmed with nolstalgia. Wow, these guys were popular (minus Steve Perry) when I was in high school! And here I was (many years later) talking to them and getting a blurry picture taken with them. LOL
Shawshank Redemption is a movie that everyone should watch at least 3 times. What an awesome movie! I want to start an Andy Dufrane fan club. LOL I like most of the animated movies. Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are classical. The dinasaur just kills me and so does the potato heads. All I can hear when I first think of the movie is how the dinasaur cries out "But I don't want to use my head" as his buddies are running him head first into the vent cover to bust out of there. I laugh like crazy every time. But my all time favorite movies are vampire movies. John Carpenter's Vampire's is my favorite. I own it and I would definately let that Vampire bite me wherever he wanted to. I literally get goosebumps when he bites someone in that movie. Someone please smack my hand for those thoughts! LOL
Now that classes at the university have started, I really do not have much time to watch t.v. But when I do I love to watch NFL (I MAKE time for that), I will watch The Young And The Restless (Eric Braedan and Jeanne Cooper) on soapnet in the evening, I love Dog The Bounty Hunter, his arrest is a bunch of BULL and his son Leland is hot)!, I also love that freak Criss Angel (he is freaky and extremely easy to look at, what an awesome combo)!, VH1 Classic when I have the time to, NFL channel is on quite often in my house, so is ESPN I and II, I will even watch ESPN Classic, The TV Land channel brings back many memories for me when I am feeling really ancient, I also like the Hallmark Channel, Oh and I can not forget WWE! Over the years "Wrestling" has really went downhill but I have managed to find something (someone) who keeps me tuning in. I should say someones. My favorite (current) wrestler is Undertaker (hmm... imagine that)! I was hooked the first time I saw him in the WWF with that cheesy Paul Bearer. I liked him best when he use to come out to the Rollin' Rollin' song, on his motorcycle. I saw him in K.C., Mo. on my 40th birthday. He rolled his eyes up towards me and I got goosebumps - Yep, I am sorta sick that way. I also like the wrestler Chris Benoit, and that Batista guy could hold my attention for at least 2 hours. Most wrestlers these days just make me turn the channel. The real good stuff is on ECW and TNA. I will watch Chris Jericho ANY chance that I get! I really like the wrestling on TNA. I am glad to find favorite wrestlers to watch after they leave WWE. My all-time favorite wrestler retired like 6 or 7 years ago (but I still love him - LOTS)! And that would be Bret "The Hitman" Hart. Posters and dvd's just do not cut it. Does anyone know his address up in Canada? I need to interview him! It has been my experience (not a thing against any other wrestler from anywhere else) that wrestlers from Canada are more technical, therefore more intersting for me to watch. I would really like to see some real and unscripted wrestling somewhere besides my son's high school gymnasium. Now that would be sports entertainment!
I have not had any time lately to read any books at all. I do enjoy like ficional, historical romance stories. I like to read made up stuff that uses actual cities, states, landmarks, locations, etc... I also like to read non-fictional historical stuff. I love to time travel in my mind. I also like to read my bible. Now there is some non-fictional historical material!
My biggest hero in my life (besides Christ) was my dad. He was a highly decorated war veteran. He was in WWII, the Korean War, and he also did 2 tours of Vietnam. He was in the Marines for 3 years (he lied about his age to get in the Marines when he was 17) and he spent 27 years in the Army. I can not even begin to list all of his awards. I am most impressed with his 2 purple hearts and his award for above and beyond the call of duty when he ran back into the jungles in Vietnam (after being injured himself) to carry out one of his men over his shoulder. He was a seargent at that time and my dad literally left no man behind. He is the one thing I am most proud of in my entire life! He recently (September 10th) passed away while I was holding his hand. Other family members were there also. I had just gotten done (like 5 minutes before he passed) playing the song "Daddy's Hands" by Holly Dunn. It was the song played at my wedding (I was once married - for like 55 days) for the Father/Daughter dance. And it fit him so perfectly. I stll can not really fully wrap my mind around the fact that he is not sitting up in Council Bluffs, IA watching an old John Wayne movie or watching some recorded baseball or football game. I will one day see my dad again. That is a promise I know I can believe in. My hero will always be my dad.
