About Me

IM.aspx?friendid=1051173"> Born in Abilene, TX, raised in Waxahachie, TX, I moved to Denton almost 15 years ago. I sold my house last May when all the dust and molds made me too sick. I also cut my library in half. I am big into poetry and currently still working on my next set of poems/aphorisms/letters. I am a part-time teaching assistant/grader at UNT's philosophy department. I have been around forever. I am basically a hired gun brought in by professors. They choose me because I can get the job done. I am actually a philosopher (school of existential phenomenology). Since I am not some kid who only recently decided to major in the history of philosophy or environmental ethics, profs know that I can "get her done!" But, despite how much time I spend in and around university class rooms, I loathe the academy in so many ways. The university is off course, and I am not sure it can get back on. So I just take advantage of the system to meet really cool people and to create a small, supprotive community of local thinkers despite the best efforts of bureaucrats to stop that tradition on or near colleges... ..I edited my profile at Doobix.com

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Interesting, burgeoning intellectuals... not the boring kind who irritate my eczema just by talking about their insipid opinions. Those kind can't even be taught the basics let alone educated from their souls. What I am really always on the lookout for are those who want to challenge the status quo while not letting such audacity go to their heads. Since I am a neo-Socratic anarcho-cynic, I want to meet beautiful young people--strong in mind and in body. No apologies! I am the local midwife who helps the youngin' give birth to him/herself. Call me pompous--everybody does sooner or later--but I am a friend who can help disclose just how much energy you have to philosophize not only over the ideas of history's great thinkers but from your ownmost freedom. Will you help me too?
