Laurent Acoustix (dj,producer) and
R*Elvis (drummer,producer) were looking for a vocalist for their own compositions while they met
Sandra Ferretti at the end of 2003.
They very soon started working together forming the trio Free Sofa, meeting each other every Monday during late night sessions (Happy Mondays).
They have then recorded not less than 20 tracks in about 2 months with a very simple, but proven to be efficient concept consisting in recording full vocal jam sessions/improvisations on the backing tracks composed by the two musicians/Djs.
They have just selected & re-recorded 10 tracks at studio Nature (Montpellier .. France).
This 1st Album temporarily named ..Culture.. is produced by
Denis Moulin and Free Sofa, and due to be released at the end of this year.
Also, it welcomes the graceful vocal participation of the lounge music industry..s Icon
Isabelle Antena.The result can be defined as a mixture of Funk / Trip hop / House (un)vocal electronic music where the energy is very tangible.
Free Sofa ..s live acts performances is a clever mixture between electronic music and acoustic sounds (bass guitar, drums, didgeridoo, ..) revealed by the generous voice of its singer. While the show is everywhere on the scene, the audience is captivated from the first to the last kick.
