About Me

Hi, I'm Karen Volpe!

I earned my BFA in Musical Theatre from Fredonia State University in New York. While in college, I began to study at The Second City in Toronto and after graduation I moved to Chicago to continue my love of comedy and study with the best, The Second City.

I'm an accomplished improv commedianne, and have studied and worked with The Second City in Toronto & Chicago and the Improv Olympic in Chicago and LA. My favorite improv gig was with The Brave New Workshop aboard the Disney Cruise Lines with my talented and ridiculously funny husband, Paul Preston (www.myspace.com/digitalmindproductions).

I starred as Gilda Radner in Bunny, Bunny, Gilda Radner, A Sort of Romantic Comedy by Alan Zweibel. ALL proceeds were donated to Gilda's Club Western New York.

Most recently I was seen as Sr. Robert Anne in the Downey Civic Light Opera's production of Nunsense and as a singing dog, Molly, in the run away hit musical Bark!.
You can hear me on the soundtrack for the hilarious new musical The Green Room written by the very talented Chuck Pelletier and C. Stephen Foster. (www.myspace.com/thegreenroommusical).

Check out "It's All About Me" above!
I created my own myspace layout using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too!
