From two 14 year old school kids from Urmston, Manchester with an ear for Hip Hop, recording their first rap songs in a friend's basement opposite school, to 2 talented hungry MC's eager to prove themselves to the Hip Hop community.
In early 2006 the inexperienced duo released their first studio CD, 'Partners in Rhyme', to a largely positive response with 'Guess Who' featuring singer Julie Smith, their first studio recorded track, winning Radio 1Xtra's Homegrown Cuts with Ras Kwame. Some negativity did surface, however, in the interview that followed as Ras Kwame didn't seem to take to the Manchester MC's possibly disagreeing with the outcome of the contest. The CD showed the potential they had to be a real player in the UK Hip Hop scene though it was still evident that their music was in a transitional stage and the young lads were still developing their style.
One of the major positives of the 'Partners in Rhyme' CD was the collaboration of the F.O.A.K and talented Manchester singer KT Forrester on the guitar driven banger 'Fear in Your Eyes'. The product of the collaboration would spark further projects between the Manchester trio.
2010 looks like the year that the F.O.A.K will finally make their mark with the Manchester MC's having grown with their music and realised the potential that was evident on 'Partners in Rhyme'. With their on point rhymes, hard hitting beats and catchy hooks the F.O.A.K seem to have hit the nail on the head and brought the full package to the table.
