.. width="425" height="350" ..BE SURE TO CHECK OUT MY NEW MOVIE "GRIDIRON GANG" STARRING THE ROCK, XZIBIT, AND OF COURSE ME!!! IN THEATRES SEPTEMBER 15, 2006FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEACTOR JAMAL MIXON aka HERCULEEZ FROM THE FILM NUTTY PROFESSOR, STARS IN HIS FIRST SERIOUS ROLE ALONGSIDE DWAYNE “THE ROCK” JOHNSON AND RAPPER XZIBIT IN THE NEW POWERFUL AND INSPIRING FILM “GRIDIRON GANG”Gridiron Gang is set to release in theaters nationwide September 15, 2006.Los Angeles, CA – August 2006 – It’s been ten years since actor Jamal Mixon made the character Ernie Jr. and the phrase “Herculeez, Herculeez” famous and unforgettable in the film The Nutty Professor starring Eddie Murphy. And now he is back in a new and suprising role that will leave the audience remembering him for another ten years. Mixon stars in the role of Evans, a teenage felon serving time in juvenile; in the new Sony Pictures film “Gridiron Gang” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Rapper Xzibit. The film tells the inspiring true story of a juvenile detention camp probation officer Sean Porter (The Rock) who creates a high school level football team from a group of hardcore teenage criminal inmates as a means to teach them self-respect, social responsibility and positive leadership. Through a series of trials and challenges, the teammates are confronted with gang rivalries and bitter hatred but with the guidance and help of Porter and his management team including Evans (Mixon), they realize their lives are not as hopeless and desperate as they thought and reach the first of many accomplishments that they have only dared to dream including a chance to play in the regional championship.Mixon’s character Evans is based on a real life teen father who gets sent to a local juvenile prison in Santa Monica California for armed robbery. While serving time, he decides to tryout for the team but unfortunately doesn’t make the cut due to certain requirements. Porter played by The Rock sees something special in Evans and invites him to join his management team as the Equipment Manager where he soon realizes his potential and becomes an important enlightening figure to his peers as they do to him. This is the first major serious and dramatic role for Mixon whom has played comedy roles since the beginning of his acting career in 1996 as Herculeez in The Nutty Professor and other films including The Cookout, House Party, and Bulworth. Mixon says “This was a challenging role for me since I come from a comedy background, but I have been waiting for an opportunity like this one for years, and I only hope this proves my ability to be able to crossover into serious roles as did Jamie Foxx and Jim Carrey.” Mixon also stated that he is honored that Sony Pictures gave him the opportunity to showcase his other acting side in a film that awe-inspiring, powerful, and emotional, a rare opportunity for comedy actors especially oversized comedic actors, but that’s a whole other story! My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Jamal Mixon BiographyJamal Mixon’s (aka Herculeez) acting journey began by accident over 10 years ago during his childhood days at the Boys & Girls Club in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles. He and his brother (actor Jerod Mixon) attended the Boys & Girls Club regularly as an extra-curricular activity not realizing nor dreaming that it would lead to a world of entertainment and fame that they had only seen in the movies and on television. Jamal and his brother were always entertaining and making the students and staff laugh through their humorous jokes and captivating personalities. They immediately became popular with the local neighborhood and word soon got out about their comedic talent that an intrigued agent contacted Jamal and his brother and quickly signed the duo after meeting them.Shortly thereafter, Jamal landed his first gig playing the role of Eddie Murphy’s little brother Ernie Jr. in the hit 1996 Blockbuster film The Nutty Professor. In the film, Ernie was touted as “Hercules, Hercules, Hercules,” which has become one of the most famous and unforgettable phrases in movie history. Most moviegoers will admit that have seen the movie more than once or must see the movie for the first time because the Hercules dinner scene is a must see and can see over and over again.Since The Nutty Professor, Jamal has been featured in major films including Bulworth (Halle Berry), How to be a Player (Bill Bellamy), The Cookout (Queen Latifah), The Nutty Professor 2-The Klumps (Eddie Murphy), and most recently Gridiron Gang (Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson & Xzibit). Jamal also guest starred in numerous television sitcoms such as The George Lopez Show, Malcolm & Eddie, Moesha, The Parkers, The Proud Family, Good News, and Nickelodeon’s The Big Help. Jamal also recorded and released a successful teen hip-hop album with is brother Jerod titled Chunka-Luv in 1999 which was produced Jermaine Dupri.Jamal’s mission in life is to inspire people to feel good about themselves no matter their size, age, race, or gender. He credits this to his older brother Tyrell "Taco" Mixon, who unfortunately passed away before having the opportunity to see him on the big screen. Tyrell was a positive, energetic and influential role model to Jamal and Jerod and to this day, Jamal uses the advice and energy of his later brother to help guide him through this journey in the entertainment world. For press inquiries including interviews with Jamal Mixon, contact Linda Luna at: LunaChic PR (310) 774-1999 or [email protected] www.lunachicpr.comI edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
