Known as the hardest working man in Jamlando, Ricky Padilla has been holding it down on the radio for a cool 8 years. Young R.P. took the “bottom to the top†approach and began his dream as an intern and he then climbed up the corporate ladder to become a “FULL timer†hosting the night show from 6 to 10pm. He is a hot commodity and is highly requested to host the most popular parties in the city.To those that don’t know the man behind the mic, Ricky Padilla was born March 4, in Newark, New Jersey. And at the age of 12, Ricky and his family relocated to Orlando. Ricky then attended Lake Howell High School and got a baseball scholarship to Seminole Community College. After getting his A.A., Ricky then moved on to the University of Central Florida, with another scholarship and graduating with a Bachelors’degree in Organizational Communications. While attending UCF, Ricky applied for an internship at 102 Jamz and eventually got hired as a part-time promotions assistant (a.k.a. member of the STREET SQUAD). He then went on to do part time on-air shifts on the weekends, and eventually got the full time position doing overnights. After 4 years of doing overnights, Ricky finally got the opportunity to move up. The 6pm to 10pm slot became open. Ricky knew this was his chance. But it didn’t come easy…he had to audition for the slot amongst many other talented candidates. He worked hard, campaigned like a presidential candidate, and Ricky finally came out on top!! He is now your host from 6pm-10pm on 102 JAMZ.In case you’re craving more info about ya boy…here are some Ricky Padilla Fun Facts! He enjoys hitting the gym, playing basketball, watching sports, boxing, and riding his motorcycle. He received the first EVER Employee of the Month Award at 102 Jamz!He is a motivational speaker for middle and high school students in Central Florida. He organizes the 102 Jamz Basketball Games, raising money for schools and other organizations in Central Florida. He played college baseball for three years …Did we mention he was the pitcher?!?
