I was born Alexandra Cymboliak Zuck Douvan on April 23, 1942. At the age of 8, I started modeling. That was when my name was changed to Sandra Dee.In 1959, I won the "Most Promising Newcomer" award at the Golden Globes. Soon after, I made several movies including, "Gidget", "A Summer Place", "Tammy Tell Me True", and "Tammy and the Bachelor". Many say I brought a freshness, wholesomeness, and an innocence to the screen. In 1960, I married teen idol Bobby Darin. We had one son, Dodd. My career also included music recordings, magazine covers, and TV appearances.
