British born Mixed Indian East African Latin American Musiclologist,Pianist,Composer,Producer,Lecturer Asif Pishori claims over 25 years experience in Performance and Education today.Born in the heart of England’s vibrant capital city London the eldest brother of three talented musicians, all accomplished in their own rights, began his formal music education on multi keyboards with Suzuki organ master Dr Leon Jazz back in 1975 when he was just 6 yrs old.“The rhythm of music has always been in my blood, even before I was born†he says, completely influenced by his Latin American, East Africn Indian roots.“From a young age I remember listening to a fusion of mesmerising African rhythms, haunting Indian classical music and energetic Caribbean party music, Home was always full of life soul and energy a melting pot of music and dance In 1985 He was awarded a scholarship to study Piano, keyboard and theory under `Yamaha Music School` Professor Dr Paul Michael James.During which time he gained three Grade 8 Distinctions with the `Associated Boards Royal School of Music` and `London College of Music` respectively.Later successfully furthering his professional qualifications with two major performance achievements a Licentiate Pianoforte diploma and Associate Keyboard Diploma at the `Central Academy of music`.Asif began teaching and performing at an early age and secured his first appointment as musical director for `Yamaha Music Schools` Chappell Of Bond Street in London’s West end in 1987.“It was an incredible place to work, I was surrounded by the world’s most expensive pianos, renowned classical concert pianists and at the same time had access to all the latest inventions in technology, it was a musicians heaven†During this period Asif met talented jazz pianist Ben Odei & highly acclaimed Jazz pianist/Teacher Dominc Alldis who both help to changed the style and character of Asif`s approach to music.In 1997 Asif moved to Brunei to set up `Starmakers Music Company` and at the same time `Pishori Brothers Entertainment` was formed a company dedicated to nurturing and developing local talents such as Hans Anwar, Diana Latip and Lo Rider. Two major concerts were successfully accomplished supporting Indonesian group `Sheila on 7` and Malaysian artist `Too Phat`Asif currently lectures at the `International School Brunei` and performs with Brunei’s most popular Latin Jazz Band `Son2nos` together with his younger brother keyboardist,Producer,Composer Imi Pishori and Venezuelan born, Latin Percussionist James Dean Vielma.
