Soul Power a.k.a Martin Thomas (Tasty Recordings)……
Martin’s DJ career started in 1991 at Monroe’s in Stockport, he also DJ’d at many venue’s in and around the Manchester.
His major break came in 1996 when he won a Fosters Ice DJ Academy contest, which lead to an 8 week run of show Thursday nights on Kiss Manchester.
Martin then gained a residency and the legendary Angels in Burnley alongside Paul Taylor (Loveland) where he played alongside the likes of Sasha & Digweed, Carl Cox, Jeremy Healy and a whole host of named DJ’s.
Martin’s progression into the studio came in 1993, and he produced many styles of music for various labels, but his heart was always in house music, so in 2005 Tasty Recordings was born.
Since it’s conception Tasty has made a name for itself already and Martin has recorded tracks with MJ White, Tyree Cooper, Katherine Ellis, Alec Sun Drae, Antonia Lucas, and Joanne Hindley and has future projects with Rashaan Houston and Pepper Mashay.
Martin’s Soul Power productions have a distinct sound and can add a commercial funky house edge to any release, and is very suitable for radio, and his mixes have been supported by many radio DJ’s.
