Alkatraz was established in 1985 By Dj Mixxin Mel and Rap Master "P" AKA The "P". Which included Dj GMJ, Doc Capital "G" and Big Sercy. Alkatraz went on to become the first rap group in the Quad Cities to put out an cassette tape of their album "Trapped In The Underground". They had a strong fan base throughout the Quad Cities area. The group did shows in the Quad Cities area, DesMoines Iowa, Rock Island Illinois and in Peoria Illinois before forces beyond their control forced the group to disband in 1993. Still homing his craft Dj Mixxin Mel went on to become a Producer of music and Graphic designer along with his engineering skills. The "P" still rapping and producing music. Along with Doc "G" and Big Sercy still writing dope ass lyrics and with our Newest Member of the group C.O.D History is in the Making!!!!!!!!!!!..................... UPDATE 2006 The Group is back together and ready to put it down once again and the Quad Cities Rappers and Djs are about to bring the Realism back into the rap game throughout the Quad Cities and Midwest Region.
