I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I live in central NC, where I am a college Spanish teacher and head of the Foreign Language Program.

I have travel led extensively, including trips to Mexico, Honduras, Argentina, Ecuador, and The Gambia, West Africa. Also in recent years I have travelled to Washington DC, FL, VA, NY, VT, CA, PA, CT,and MA. Some of my travels are mission trips, and others are just to spend time with friends. I am a deacon in my church (the first female). I am a member/supporter of the Southern Poverty Law Center in Montgomery, Alabama, where my name is on the Wall of Tolerance at the Civil Rights Memorial, and a founding sponsor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial slated for completion in 2008 in Washington DC. I am an "elite feet" participant in the annual MS Walk to raise funds for Multiple Sclerosis research and programs. Thanks to friends and family, I raised $1,030 in 2005, $1,145 in 2006, $1,065 in 2007, and $3,080 in 2008, for a 4-walk total of $6,320.
