My Interests

Photography, photography, photography!! I love to sing, go for drives in my truck, and I dabble with drawing. I also enjoy writing. One aspect of my more creative side comes out in the form of a little cat doll I have named Purrdy. Purrdy has her own myspace space, and I enjoy "helping" Purrdy blog. Purrdy's space is myspace.com/pawsitivelypurrdy

I'd like to meet:

I know Jesus. One day, I'll see him face to face. I know him heart to heart. Some who are no longer with us: Mark Twain, Abraham Lincoln and Sojourner Truth, Benjamin Franklin, Charles Schulz. My ancestors. Some who never existed, except in the minds of the highly talented and creative: Scarlett O'Hara and her Mammy; Jean Luc Picard, Data, and Q; Bree and Rex from Desperate Housewives...Snoopy, Garfield and Odie, the Pink Panther.I'd like to meet Def Leppard, Stephen King, Morgan Freeman, Owen Wilson. VIVIAN CAMPBELL!!OH AND LET ME NOT FORGET...LAST BUT NOT LEAST...MY WONDERFUL FRIEND THE PREACHERMAN, WHO HAS BEEN A HUGE PART OF MY LIFE FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND WITHOUT WHOM I DON'T THINK I'D BE HERE TODAY.It has been brought to my attention that as much as I love John Denver, I have not listed him as someone I would like to meet. The love I have for the man and his music is based solely on the image he showed the world. The love I feel for the man is so great, that when he died in 1997, family members contacted me from across the US...and my worldwide penpals all sent me notes of condolence. I think that I would have liked the real man...I DID read his autobiography and he was painfully truthful about himself. But his music was so important to me, I just didn't think I'd want to meet him and possibly shatter the illusion. My greatest concern is not that he was human, just like the rest of us. I just didn't want to run the risk of discovering that he was just another, typical, rich Colorado snob. Okay..so I have my shallow sides hahahahaha and I CAN be very judgmental. hahahaha

Music:

JOHN DENVER LIVES!!!
Cool SlideshowsI also like Def Leppard. A few months ago my darling dotter Anna (dear tragedy) was visiting and we all went to see Def Leppard in Louisville. I knew Anna and my other kids could rock, but didn't know that I still could. It was wonderful and is one of my most cherished memories. It could have only been made more perfect if Brent could have been there, too! I like some Eminem, and Christopher has played enough Snoop Dawg that there are actually a couple of songs of his that I like.

For the most part, my redneck tendencies cause me to lean toward country music: Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Terry Clark, Tracy Byrd, Jo Dee Messina. Oh and I can't forget Alex....
What Evanescence song are you?[many outcomes + wonderful pictures]

Your Evanescence song is: Field of Innocence
Your "adult" life is full of despair, hate and un-pure things. Nothing is good anymore and you are generally depressed about it. You remember the good times from your earlier years: your childhood. Back then every feeling was nice and you didn't have to face the worlds cold heart. You wonder if you're even the same person anymore since you've changed so much. Sadly enough no one can control time.
Where has my heart gone
An uneven trade for the real world

Movies:

ANNOYING Stewie

Stewie annoying Lois from family guy... SO FUNNY!Dances With Wolves, Education of Little Tree, Ya Ya Sisterhood, Throw Mama From the Train (my favorite!, The Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption, Pirates of the Caribbean. I also LOVE the movie "Adventures of Winnie the Pooh." "Lilo and Stitch" is one of the very best, too.

Television:

I don't watch tv. I watched VH1 and the Rock Honors (I think that's what it was called), but I only watched Def Leppard's performance...then I watched the rebroadcast and they kept in a part that was cut from the original broadcast. They performed an extended version of "Rocket," that was the most fantastic part of the entire show...and how can I say that since I didn't watch the entire show? Well...it's Def Leppard...they are always the best.I like Desperate Housewives, but I never watch it during its regular season. I wait until it comes out on DVD, then when I am up at night, if I'm not blogging, I have something good to watch.A really neat thing...I gave up television when I had 5 kids at home. It was easier to give it up than to fight to watch and strain to hear over all the noise...so rather than getting upset with my babies, I played with them. The up side to all that is now, all these years later, there are no such things as reruns and rebroadcasts. All the old shows are new to me! I finally got to meet Roseanne and Dan back in January of this year, and I got hooked!

Books:

Stephen King is my favorite author. His books that I enjoy the most are "Bag of Bones," "The Green Mile," "The Dead Zone," "Rose Madder," "Misery," and "The Shining." I also like John Steinbeck; "Chesapeake" by Michener; Alice Hoffman, most especially "Seventh Heaven" and "Practical Magic."

Heroes:

My brother Richard is my hero...very human guy, served his country for many years, including time in Viet Nam. My son Brent, who also served honorably in the US Army. YES!! He has pulled himself up and found the determination not to let life keep him down. I am SO proud of HIM!! And where do you draw the line when you have five kids...they all have done so much and have risen to meet the challenges in their lives. The true heroes in life are the downtrodden and the forgotten, the overlooked and the labeled by the blind in our society who don't compromise their values and remain good, decent people as they struggle and as they succeed in their goals. Those who never give up...these are the heroes to me. Some examples are my two daughters. Life is hard all the way around, but women who succeed at their goals are the kind of people I admire, especially if they do it when they also have a family to care for. YES, LEGENA!!! My kids have all had their share of problems, but one by one, they have risen to the challenges in their lives and they have succeeded. I just hope that my kids can understand that I tried to rise to meet the challenges that were given to me and that I did my best at all times. If I never did anything else right, I was always there for them, and I raised individuals, not clones of each other or of me. My kids are definitely my heroes...they survived me as their Mom and the death of their dad. On second thought, maybe I am the ONE who survived THEM, as evidenced by the following, highly graphic Graphic (x5!!):
