Born in the town of Yauco, Puerto Rico, from a young age Johnny Sepulveda was exposed to a wide variety of Caribbean and Afro-Antillean rhythms. Johnny learned how to play the conga and other hand drums in church and rumba parties. By the time he was fifteen, he started playing in local groups and church.
After serving in the Navy, Johnny moved to Orlando, Florida, where he continued playing and donating his time to church and schools. In addition to having a private teaching practice, Johnny worked as an independent musician for many recording artists including Rene Gonzalez, Michael Rodriguez, Juan Carlos Alvarado, Christian Valenzuela, Malvin Santiago and Chamaco Rivera. He has also traveled with Dance Express (T. Skorman Productions), performing at conventions and corporate functions.
In the fall of 2000, N'Sync's music director, Kevin Antunes, invited Johnny to participate in the band's Christmas Special. He also recorded on the band's track for the 2001 Grammy Awards, after which he became a band member for N'Sync for their Pop Odyssey and Celebrity Tours.
Johnny continues to reside in Orlando, Florida, working as a recoding artist and performing as an independent musician for a variety of Jazz artists and churches including Clint Brown's Faith World (One Nation Under Praise), Iglesia El Calvario, Rejoice in the Lord Ministries, Tony Winn Jazz, Jazz Hamilton Quintet and several Hispanic Christian artists.
