note: these things are real people! there's no tracing and no running filters on images. all i have at my disposal is a reference, a wacom tablet, photoshop cs, and a lot of free time. no smudge tools, no airbrushing, just the pen banging away on the tablet. people in the 20th century painted with oils because that's what they had at their disposal. folks in the 21st century use what we have at our disposal, which now includes 'digital paint'. it's certainly not as messy as the oil based stuff.
