I'm a Canadian (Vancouverite) who has lived in Las Vegas since May of 1994. When I arrived, I was doing some set-up, tear-down and sound for local cover bands. Every now and then, I did guest appearances to sing a song or two but that got old real quick.
In Vancouver, I was in a cover band called Howz of Power which fancied ourselves as a "live" radio station playing the most current hits with no sequencing or sampling. Everything was done live even if the original artists used a lot of sequencing and sampling. I was also lead singer for a group named Noodles Romulus, which in its early stages showed lots of promise. They had a great grooving sound which at the time was fresh. Unfortunately, the group fell apart due to personnel differences.
I had been involved with numerous acts in Vancouver which had a life-span of between 1 to 4 gigs before "something" happens and the project is folded. I was also involved in The Vancouver Collective, a local group founded by Phil Anderson, focused on promoting local Vancouver art from sculpting to music. During that time, I was also an honorary vice-president for the Vancouver Parents Against Drugs Society(VPAD) who promoted anti-drug campaigns to kids from early childhood through elementary and high school ages.
Today: We will take it one day at a time... After leaving music for 13 years, I find myself back in music with a recording studio, as a bassist and currently in pursuit of business and music degrees. I used to collect sports cards as a hobby but now I decided to collect diplomas because I like to abuse myself.
